The song was a major hit and reached #1 on the Urban radio airplay and Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts. On other American charts, "A Love Bizarre" went to #2 on the R&B chart and #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, the song reached the top 5 in West Germany and the top 10 in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
