I still don't understand the difference in the Islam version of Mouridism that the Touba Brotherhood practices. The local guide speeded through his spiel about the stunning Great Mosque that left me totally confused. Perhaps a viewer can enlighten all of us further....

@@SheilaSimkin Definitely I am loving it. In some ways, the landscape is reminiscent of Australia, I think. Red dust and vast spaces in with faraway skies.

Hi Sheila. Thank you for posting this nice video. To shed a little bit of light on your inquiry: Yes, the Mouridia are Sunni (which is of the mainstream Islam), as are all of the Muslims of Senegal. The unique aspect is that they are a unique Sufi Order within the bounds of Al-Islam. This Sufi Order is known as the Mouridia, which (as a Sufi Order is known for) is directed towards the spiritual enlightenment, purification, and coming coming closer to Allah (God Almighty). Every Sufi Order in Islam has its own means as a road to the Almighty, which may seem different to others at first; however, all paths leads to God Almighty. I hope this helps shed a little bit of light on the possible confusion.

Le prophète Muhammad (bénédiction et salut soient sur lui) a dit qui a prié le matin dans son assemblée puis s'est assis en se souvenant d'Allah dans sa prière jusqu'au lever du soleil puis a prié deux Rak'ahs il a eu la récompense du Hajj et son âge est complet
