Guys here is the 3rd set of wheels and tires on my Shelby GT350.
I chose the Project 6GR Five this time around and I only did this to really test the Michelin Pilot Sport P4S Tires. I really disliked the stretched OEM Pilot Super Sports and like the look of this wider package better.
Will Michelin offer the P4S in the OEM sizes? I think so in due time once they start phasing the old tires out.
Surprisingly the ride quality and road noise is a significant improvement over the Pilot Super Sports
Grip is RIDICULOUS!
Ground clearance is lower and seems about the same smashing the lower front lip
Steering is firmer and feels like a new Camaro ZL1 or CTS-V, go drive those and you'll get what I am talking about.
Car feels totally different in a much improved performance way.

Great video! More enthusiasm for the Michelin Pilot Sport P4S tires than on any other video or tire. I’m really enjoying my Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 + tires. Thanks! I’ll be ready for a different BMW before I’ll need different tires.

Hey Thanks for your videos. I am replacing my Super Sports tomorrow and my tire guy suggested exactly what you did with 4s's. I was wondering about changing sizes and how it would feel, how it would work. You answered all my questions and then some. Rather than being nervous about how the changes will work, I can't wait now to get it done and try it tomorrow. Thanks again, great job in both videos (dry and wet is incredible). Doing some other interesting things to my GT350, let me know if you want to hear. I'll get back to you.

Love the video! The Project 6 wheels are my choice for my current 18' GT.....Whipple Supercharger 800+ hp.....need some wheels wider and the offset works...20x10(35) & 20x11(50)...295/20 for the front and 305/20 in the rear......it's gonna be a beast!!!!!

They do look great. Love the race red the more and more I see it. Though it looks like the wheel gap has increased over the OEM stock wheels/tires, or is it my imagination? Did the car just come down off the jack? I guess it also could be attributed to the smaller sidewall on the PS4S....but that gap would drive me nuts. And in this car, its difficult to go any lower without busting up the front splitter.

yeah the car did settle the gap is normal looks good thou if you lower this car your asking for trouble or you need to just remove the front bumper and drive without one ha ha ha. Race Red is awesome on this car

The low ride height wont be an issue if you hit a few bumps hard so as to dent and grind off anything that hits...hehe Those Michelins seem to have very low road noise.

I have had my 4s tires for about 4 months now and love them... but I’m really having a hard time finding a tire shine that will actually stick to these side walls on here.... what did you use for the shine you put on and have you been happy with it? I have tried multiple dressings and they all sling off even after being on for days because I only drive that car on the weekends.

Hi AF, now that you have the GT350 R, how is this setup compared to the Carbon Fiber Wheels and the PS Cup 2? I'm asking because I have a 2019 GT350 with the Cup 2 tires that comes original, and I want to have some project6r Wheels (10 spokes) with PS4s 305 front and 325 rear. Thanks!

Gustavo Valensuela cup2 are way sharper in the handling but terrible in rain or daily use. The carbon wheels give a very different feel mostly lower noise and smoother ride due to the resonate change versus alloy

great videos! just subscribed! question: I'm having a supercharger installed into my C7 grand sport corvette.. i'll be having between 650-680hp. would this tire give me a good grip of the hole? I really really don't want drag radials, i'll be using the car as a daily driver

these tires will be excellent however the C7 has grip issues because of the light weight and suspension design but I will tell you these tires would be my first choice for a blower upgrade on that car, the Z06 i had for a day was all over the road with the Pilot Sport Cup tires it could not hook up at all on the street same with the older Zr1. I would chose this tire over the Toyo and Nitto any day. We installed a set of these on a Hennessy V3 CTSV and it made a huge difference.

thanks a ton!! this right here answers so my questions and doubts I had.. ive been going crazy trying to find a good set of tire for daily and wet roads.. hopefully they stick if I go to the track for a 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile.. i'll comment in the future and give you an update lol.. What was the caliper clearance on the front wheels (top of the caliper). I have the 6GR R replica wheels on my 350R. I like the wheels but the front clearance between caliper and the barrel is so tight that rocks and debris will get caught between and scratch the caliper.

I have a 2017 Corvette C7 Stingray. My oem rear tire is a Micheline Pilot SS runflat in 285/35/19. Non run flats are about 7 lbs lighter in the rear. My next set of tires will be nonrunflat. GOAL: I want to get more acceleration grip from a stop and need more traction (because all the torque can easily break grip all the way to 3rd or 4th gear). QUESTION: Would you either 1) get wider 295 rear tires or 2) keep the same size 285 wide tires to reduce unsprung weight for more responsiveness (fun) ? Thanks.

go with 295 and ditch the runflats just get a Safety Seal kit for screws and flats if needed.

man those 325's look like you painted the tread directly onto the rim ... I hear from Model S owners that bigger wheels cause far, far more frequent flat tires (3x a year if driven daily), good luck.

Right away I just have to say that I appreciate a man who is honest with himself. For you to admit that you bought these specific wheels in 5 spoke so that you’re not trying to make you’re GT350 look like the R, is noteworthy in my book. Too many people, in all car makes, with lower premium cars, try to make their car look like the higher premium car, to look cool, when all they’re doing is just being posers. At least your one of the few who isn’t trying to pose.

So i have to say, I would like to get a GT350 with brembo brakes and a spoiler and bigger tires because I want a maxed out GT350 street car. But really maybe I should get a GT350r and then add a rear seat and delete those fragile carbon rims. The problem in some cases is you might want a "mixture" car that is halfway in-between the two models that Ford is offering. Putting carbon-look rims on a GT350 is not a sin if its a 2nd set of wheels. Putting those imitation rims a Mustang GT would be a sin :-).

I want to go with the red calipers as well. Problem is I remember the set of all 4 came out to like $2000. Suggestions on where to get them cheap? I was considering selling the black calipers to help offset the price, but don't know who would buy them, and for what selling price...

What a fortunate coincidence. Just watched the video, I'm definitely considering that now. I like the GT350 logo you did and think it would look good in a light silver against the red. I'm riding in my GT still, the GT350 is scheduled to arrive May time frame. Side note: I watch a lot of your videos but didn't realize these were your videos at first. I clicked the link because I bought the same 6GR fives for the 350 and its going to be race red! You're the only channel I like so far!

I am thinking of going with a set of forged wheels in the "r-spec" wheel sizes and same tires as you have in this video. I do have a bit of a concern with the wheel well gap though with the smaller sidewall tire. Should I also put on a set of the Ford Performance lowering springs to close that gap? The FP springs drop the car 20mm. But then my concern is that the car will ride a lot lower and I will shred my splitter. Any thoughts or suggestions?

The stretch helps sharpen steering response, having more tire on a smaller wheel (more shoulder) does the opposite.

yes they are, Eric did you alter the wheel alignment on your car? I do notice some changes out back as its not as neutral now because of the lower center of gravity, even though its small its enough for me to feel and comment on. Been driving all day so far 65miles driven will have the second video posted tomorrow and more to follow.

I know these tires received excellent reviews; however, after seeing them on your car I would not put them on my GT350. IMO the 30’s leave too much gap between the tire and the fender and it is not a favorable look. I wish they made the 4S in a 35.

i have not tried to install these tires on the OEM wheels, i am sure they will fit but the rears might bulge over a bit but i do know some guys running the 305-30-19 all 4 corners

Yea I just downloaded the spec sheet on Michelin and it says for the 4s that minimum rim width is 11" which is what the OE rims are so a 325 30 19 should work. So really that much better than the super sports huh?

it will settle, some it looks good now, lower no way not where I drive it will rip the front clip off the car easily too risky. There are not many tire options for us folks which is truly a shame. I think this Spring that will change lets hope.

no it will not you can fix the tramlining by your cars alignment you need to bring it to a good shop who knows what they are doing, if you dial in the right negative camber up front and run about .25 toe in that should solve it

I am wanting to switch out of the factory SC2 tires because, well, they are track tires that frankly such for street driving. Did you find that the 4s is much more regular road friendly? In that they do not make the car shift erratically with the surface imperfections of the average highway? I am trying to find a tire that doesn't pull the car all over the place every time it drives over the slightest groove. I was wondering if I should go with these 4s or the Continentals? What has been your impression with regard to road imperfection pull that you get with the factory SC2 tires in comparison?

The fact that you winter drive your gt350 is just ridiculous. I own one also and wouldn't even consider it winter is so hard on vehicles.

yeah but it is a modern car that can take it, i have classics that sit in the garage all winter if you properly take care of the car like i do it is perfectly fine, life is too short to sit around waiting for spring you spend the money enjoy it that is my philosophy.

The only thing I don’t like about the GT350 is the wheel gap! There is so much wheel gap, but the GT350 stock is already pretty low, if you lowered the car to get rid of the wheel gap, the entire car would just be way too low for daily driving.

yeah by design lowering cars doesnt always make them better as i found through heavily testing on the S55 platform, this chassis is designed for the static heights given, if this car was lowered it might feel very unbalanced and hard to set up for a neutral feel

the wheel gap is worse on the gt350 because the run a 30 profile sidewall vs a 35 which you’d normally see on a 305/19. Idk why, maybe to save weight off the tires, but they do

Well Michelin didn't launch the PS4s on the OEM size. They came out with the Cup2s OEM for 2019. Which is awesome.

Bro, please dont ever BUY a rim that' you really didnt want to buy out of concerns that randoms on you tube will call you a poser.. You should have purchased the 7 spoke to get the look u really wanted..If I decide to purchase the 20019 GT 350 instead of a ZL1 next year I am getting the 7 spoke Replicas period.. As long as you dont have the R emblems, splitter, steering wheel, wing. R ON THE SEATS you are good. Rims alone dont make anyone a fu$$$$$$ poser.. Its usually the ones that cant afford either car are the ones that talk the most....

Will those wheels fit on a 2018. 5.0, its black, i think they would look good, i want the graphite grey vossens but not for 7-8 grand.

Roll being the operative word, 😏 😂🤣. Really enjoyed watching your wheel reviews. It’s a small window of availability of a wheel that will fit a R. Definitely will get the 4S tires, but looking for a wheel I can use with them. The Cup 2 s wear so much quicker, and only will use at the track
