In this video I do a review on a 2016 Shelby Gt350 in Avalanche Grey. We go for a drive and I give my thoughts vs my Camaro ss 1le.

Nobody hates the gt350. Even if you hate mustangs , everyone seems to love the gt350.

Torque versus horsepower, traditional pushrod versus flat plane crank, used mid $30s versus mid 50s and up, reliable versus questionable reliability, good exhaust versus incredible exhaust. Great video

I love that you’re a Camaro guy, but still able to enjoy a good car. I own a 19’ GT350R but still enjoy Hellcats and Camaro SS 1LE’s they are all excellent American muscle cars.

Glad my GT350 went to a good home... (thanks for the compliment) I traded it in for a 5.0 Range Rover Sport. Replaced the 350 with an R in the identical color combo / Avalanche grey with the black painted roof. Still have the aftermarket wheels that I ran on that car... The stock wheels are just too heavy - get the lightest wheels you can buy and then do another review. Changes the ride completely.

Like your presentation ~ I'm a "proud" owner of a 17 GT350 and 18 ZL1 1LE. Love em Both., Track em both on road course race tracks. Have a couple other Mustangs which are awesome one being a modded a10 and other SVT Cobra track Monster kinda like 2000R on steroids Anyways... GT350 as stated in video is a Great CAR and my favorite all around! ZL1 !LE is much Faster everywhere especially on Track but ride will suffer if road bumpy but the toque is freaking awesome and make sure your 100tw tires are warmed Up. Owner's mods for GT350 ?? IMO. Get Aluminator 5.2 XS engine (crossplane crank) with long tube headers and you have 580 hp you can bang away on at the track all day long. `Run two sets of tires & rims one for track Goodyear 3R's and 2nd set for street where you run super 200's or Pilot Sport 4S's. Enjoy!! Spend your $$ wisely by a 2nd home investment property or get a (additional) girlfriend or mod your car or all of the above if your wife throws you out

Nice car bro. A GT350 is going to be my next car, in the next couple months or so. Have you thought about doing any minor mods to yours, or maybe switching to E85 fuel?

they're a car that only take or need one "simple" mod -- long tube headers. I am proud owner and track as in road course mine fairly often among other comparable rides

Be sure and call Fathouse Performance and tell them you can’t boost these cars as they’ve been doing it for a while now. The ‘19-‘20 models have the GT500 motor upgrades so boost is not an issue....not sure it was before but better now.

I have zl1 1le and my friend has a gt350r. We exchanged cars. Test drive the cars Love the sound of the Shelby and also ride is more smoother than the 1le but both amazing cars

Ironically enough I just sold an 18 GT350 that I had for 9 months for a 2020 SS1LE. To the points you made in your video the GT350 has such a unique sound and the high RPM range for a V8 American made pony car is pretty crazy. It also handles very well. For me though the SS1LE feels more like a purpose built sports car. I prefer the low end torque of the LT1, and the handling feel. PTM gives you way more options, for track and street. You also sit lower and everything about the cockpit makes you feel more connected to the ride. The price difference is really hard to overlook. You can get a brand new SS1LE for less than a used GT350. It would be one thing if the GT350 was head and shoulders a better car than the SS1LE, but it’s not. I think this is the true advantage of the Camaro.

I respect that. It comes down to personal preference in the end. I test drove an SS 1LE manual twice and really liked it. Low end torque, great gearbox, solid value, and it’s pretty much on par performance-wise with the regular GT350. Test drove a ZL1 manual for comparison, but didn’t like it. Can’t put the power down and always fighting for traction. Then I rented a GT350 on Turo for a day and fell in love. To me, it feels more balanced than the Camaro. Noticeably less torque down low, but so much fun to rev it out. Ordered mine two days ago.

Interesting because I test drove a SS 1LE and I didn’t think it felt as special as the GT350. The noise is good but not great, I dislike the transmission compared to the Tremec. It just isn’t as fun to me personally.

@@immajosh4022 The GT350 exhaust note is definitely a pro for the GT350. The SS1LE in track mode has more burbles, but it can’t replicate a FPC engine. There are exhaust mods for the SS1LE to improve it but stock for stock the GT350 sounds amazing. Both cars use a Tremec manual gearbox. The Tremec in the SS1LE feels more direct to me.

@@thillyard1 Really? I honestly didn’t catch on to that during the test drive. They don’t feel the same to me. Maybe I’m just tripping. I mean not too long ago I was considering trading my GT350 for the ZL1 and then I ran into a 1LE. Personally I think the SS 1LE is the best feeling Camaro I’ve driven. I do like it a lot but idk, the Shelby just hits a few more things home for me I guess. Mainly the engine and suspension if I had to pin it down.

Had a 16 myself. Loved that car and no longer own it. Didn’t get the extended warranty so I got out of it. Still miss it.

when's the next video?????? what's next for the camaro??? I plan on getting a 16-18 1LE myself in either the hyper blue or black, can't decide. love your car man! I have your parts list saved and will probably mimic everything you've done so far lol I think boost should be in your future or just some nice light weight wheels 🤷‍♂️😎

take the scat pack out of your search those are a waste of money in my opinion especially considering there are used hellcats in the 40s now. i would opt for the camero if you are looking to make reliable power. if you are looking for a more rare drivers car then go for the shelby. just my opinion ✌️

The lack of technology package, no diff cooler, has the base model stereo, deal breaker. has to have those. I get it the 2015-2016s didnt have the 3 coolers later added. why would you get a gt350 with that tiny little backup screen?

cuz this vid was 10 months ago when the car market wasn’t insane. i bought my type r last year for $32k and sold it for $39k this year. now you can’t even get one for less than $40k lol unfortunately the car market isn’t going to come down any time soon :(

I'm 6'2" and have no issue at all with my '18 GT350. Leg room for days. Head room may or may not be a bit snug depending on your proportions. I have about a 2" gap between my head and the roof with the seat lowered all the way. All in all, excellent daily driver for the past 20k miles.
