@@johndock9164 Maybe if you work like a construction crew... I had to replaster my normal walls for a 2 story home... took us 2 days, 12 hours a day. If you put your mind too it and didn't work like a contracted worker you could easily get this small home done in a day... 2 tops. There is a reason I do all my own work (and yes i'm certified or trained in anything but Plumbing/Electrical).

Concrete may be scarce right now, although I have not yet looked up why, they can mix other things to print the house also. I know that there is one company that is using recycled plastics.

If you use a clear matte finish type epoxy thats not shiny or maybe shiny and tinted a color it would help to keep dust from sticking in all those grooves and would look really cool like with a white and black looking granite pattern epoxy finish

Gotta love it. Let’s build a house that produces silica dust 24/7
@Cody_Lowen
@Cody_Lowen 7 ай бұрын
Literally just spray it with a concrete sealer. Also raw concrete won’t produce silica dust unless its sanded. Treat it exactly like an asbestos on friable tile. Unless your cutting it, or scraping it, its perfectly safe. Silica dust is also a lot less dangerous and easy to remove than asbestos contamination. Like you can literally just wet the concrete before you drill, and then wipe it away. Something you can’t do with most asbestos materials such as dry wall because it will ruin everything else around it.

People comment on dust so just vacuum the walls and have shut off valves in sections of house in case of a plumbing leak so you can pull a new section of pex pipe. You can also add color to the mix to get different colors and also blend into the surrounding natural landscape.

What about the rebar? I’d be interested to see how long it lasts, does anyone know how this is reinforced?
@SalientPrime
@SalientPrime 11 ай бұрын
Its the way it is layered. It is a continuous "ring" around the house that bonds to the previous layer that has somewhat hardened. Rebar is used when massive and constant pressure is applied like on roadways or driveways. Walls don't receive the same pressure and can support itself.

imagine having to dust your walls, the cotton on the dusters will then also get stuck in the concrete- and imagine walking into the rough walls I literally cannot right now- you can’t even paint them and there’s NO INSULATON
@baphomeat
@baphomeat 9 күн бұрын
Plaster to smooth the wall or various other methods... there are plenty of options to prvent dust accumulation... get over it and use your brain since you think you're so smart. Plaster would also alleviate your second issue. How do you know there is no insulation? You clearly don't understand how the homes are built cause you've probably only seen this ONE clip. (Spoiler the walls are hollow and insulation and other stuff goes inside them...)

Yes let me direct you to the puncture i've got in my arm when I was slammed into a wooden wall at my childhood home and got nearly an inch of wood shoved into my arm. Let me also direct you to the time I triped and fell against my schools brick wall and skinned the sh*t out of my back and tore up my favorite shirt. All materials have dangers... your observation of the ones associated to this material are pointless.
