Clifford Yawn - listen to the very first few lines..... don't pick up the mail, don't pick up the phone.... just as soon be alone..... My take on this is his wife left him and he's dealing with heartbreak and loneliness. Like someone else said, he's dealing with haunting memories.

Once again i will comment on one of the few country artists that truly put their heart into their music. I don't know if you ever have time to read the comments on your artwork but please rest assured that there are those of us who truly appreciate someone who can express what we are trying to struggle through. Thank you for trying to help us to survive.

Ain't it funny how a song can just inundate you with memories that puts you right back where you were 5 minutes ago to 30 or 40 years ago It just strikes a chord and you can't help but stop remember what you were doing when this song first came out and then the first time that you use this song to remember somebody

Yes thank you very much for posting this. Tonight my heart is breaking and whenever there's a full moon the love of my life comes through Michael's been gone since 2014 but the pain is like yesterday hang on to your soulmates people fight for the love Fight For the Good Times I had another good friend pass on April Fool's Day of 2022 absolutely stunned me but I know I reached out because for no reason I picked up the phone because I heard a ping and I read that a man from Wauchula had been killed when his car hydroplaned I hadn't seen David for almost 30 years and I knew immediately that it was him I live 30 minutes away from him and because I didn't want to disrupt a family just to stop in and say hi I have lost my chance forever people don't let this happen to you being a ghost in a house is not fun hold your loved ones close and never be afraid if nothing else to say goodbye

In 2012, while having freshly separated with the love of my life, or, who knows? Maybe it wasn't, I now reflectingly think. Be this as it may, I listened over and over to this song, while coursing through a ton of pills...the hardest time, and lowest point of my life. The God of my soul and salvation...my living redeemer saved me from this period of odious and ominous bleakness and blackness! I still run into certain things that makes my head spin, and turn, and think back with a core longing to those days, and how I loved them every one, but I look to the Cross and what Christ had fully and completely done for me there, and how He had delivered me from any and all of that, and once more, I'm good, and am at peace...His peace which pass the all understanding!

From what I get in this song is a man who lost his wife and is taking care of their daughter who has taken his wife's place. Such a very sad song . Sad songs say so much. Bless the song writers

Over 16 years with the women I’m with now , faithful, loyal , we’ve had 4 children together, she once brought such happiness, the last couple of years though , man can I relate to this song , she’s slept on the couch since our last child was born , going on 9 months now , good luck y’all , love definitely fades if you let it.
