I was told to snorkel you don’t need to be a strong swimmer. They give u life jackets.

Yes. Indeed pigeon island is one of the most beautiful beaches in east Srilanka . There are facilities to explore underwater marine life even if you do not know how to swim. Must visit place in Srilanka . Nice video . ❤

Shenell I some what agree with you about comfort stations on pigeon island but I think all the same there should be a eco friendly comfort station on this island for the call of nature may arise at any time anywhere.Sri Lankan local provinces must do the same in providing these comfort stations that are also eco friendly and maintained in good condition 24/7 and there can be no objection for foreigners or local to pay a fee to use them , Unfortunately most provinces public facilities are in poor state and tourist s will form a poor impression of their standard ,From one who has lived and travelled extensively throughout Sri Lanka,😮😮😮

If it aint broke dont fix it! 😆 its a great swim suit of amazing quality I have had it for over 7-8 years. I feel lucky to have it cus its stopped me for wasting money trying to keep up with trends. But the time to replace it is closing in and I m very sad about it 🥲

Why don't you have board informing this fact to the tourists and some toilet facilities and a kiosk to serve food which could be collected and removed end of the day There are means to have a toilet made without damaging the environment

‘Entrance’ fee to Pigeon Island is 40 dollars per person + 50.000 LKR (165 dollar) boat and snorkling gear… we are 3 persons.. this means 280 dollar to go snorkling. Unless we’re being lied to, this price is absolutely ridiculous. What is up with making everything so expensive for tourists? I don’t have a problem with paying more than a local but this is too much.

It’s a national park and the country’s only marine park. All national parks are priced the same.

Hey there I understand what you mean, its often scary for us in another country to advice a local to, but we like to lead by example, in srilanka I ve noticed locals feel bad when foreigners start cleaning up and usually they join in immediately. Sometimes this might be the better option too.
