3 records will be or were set. It broke the record for most money raised in crowd funding campaign for a videogame. I believe it's the longest time between a true sequel. And if it does well and critics like it it will be the first game to get this revive treatment after almost 2 decades that hasn't bombed. (IE not Duke Nukem Forever).

People complaining is not on Xbox , yu Suzuki went to Microsoft to see if they wanted to help make shenmue 3 via Kickstarter and they where not interested in it, so he went to Sony and Sony agreed as long as it was a system exclusive and pc.. for all the shenmue fans this game is a system seller..

Lan di went to bailu village , shenhua is from bailu village, Shenhuas dad is missing, Ryo only mentioned him as lan di and not longsun zhao, Theres a chance shenhua only knows her father by his real name. It adds up, Lan Di is shenhuas father

My only gripe with that was that I chose to get 1+2 for my xbox when I saw it was coming out for xbox.(more storage and 4K for what I have) Then when they changed it now I have to split them up lol If I had known it was going to be PS4 exclusive then I would've gotten it for that. I'll still be getting it for sure though.

My first play through of Shenmue that was bundled with my Dreamcast is till this day BY FAR the most awe struck a game has ever left me,at the time it was so far ahead of anything on a console that unless you actually experienced it back in 99/2000 it’s hard to explain,Shenmue 2 even though it was a more polished game in nearly every way on the X-box couldn’t even compare to the 1st full play through of the original.A true masterpiece of gaming I just wish I could feel that first “hit” again

@Sir Galahad It's a spiritual successor but the games have very different directions. Yakuza is a crime brawler and Shenmue is more investigative. I love both but very different directions.

"Shenmue 3 Before you Buy" it's the third instalment in a series that only got made coz fans of the first two protested for about 14 years and then put up roughly 8 million dollars between them in a month, then patiently waited 2 years, were told it would be delayed and said "np just make it as good as you can". Although this tells you nothing about the game itself, it clearly illustrates the passion and commitment of a community formed in hopes and anticipation of this game, the likes of which has never been seen before. Which tells you something about this series.

Hit animations and collission detection during fights is actually better in the last 2 games. I remember machinegun fist very fondly. Here, collision is evidently non existent, I hope they fix this.

I would say it depends on most people. If you like exploring, challenging yourself, and getting invested into a narrative play Shenmue. At its heart it is a kung-fu drama.

I stopped the video less than a minute in because I don't want to know. I want to enjoy it and be surprised. I loved shenmue so much that I had bought the European Import for the sequel on Dreamcast. I know the original Vision was for double-digit chapters and I really hope this does well enough to continue the story.

My point was, as long as it took for part 3 to come out, it will probably take another 20 years for part 4 to release. Assuming this one sells well enough. I'd rather the story finish up in 3 after all the hoops Suzuki jumped through to make this 2nd sequel happen.

I actually don't believe Ryo will ever kill Lan Di. He will grow enough to beat him and pity his existence. Or a huge plot twist will avoid him killing Lan Di. Imagine going through all that growth from part 1 and 2 to just kill and not think. That's what I love about the Shenmue games.

a few years ago Yu Suzuki talked about shenmue and there were a few bullet points in his talk about the story of the game, anyway the last one was Acceptance if i'm not mistaken. I seriously doubt Ryo will ever kill Lan Di, the story is about much more than that.

Absolutely yes. Shenmue is one big game divided into chapters, that's why people were so upset when it was left incomplete after chapter 2. If you star the 3rd one without some background you'll miss a lot.
