Piccolo was by far the smartest villain in DB. Killed fighters who could possibly be a threat to him, almost killed goku in their first battle, killed chaotzu to stop him from wishing him away, wished for his youth to be restored (first villain to successfully make a wish), killed shenron so no one could use balls to defeat him and took over the world shortly afterwardS. He also gave birth to piccolo jr, who went on to become a better anti-hero turned hero than vegeta. Frieza maybe iconic but the original demon king was by far the most successfull villain in db history.

I honestly always thought Shenron was immortal. Serious WTH moment here.

This is one of the darkest moments in whole DB/DBZ, and definitely the darkest in DB. Dragon killed so at this point everyone thought that Krillin, Master Roshi and Chaotzu can not be brought back, plus King Piccolo's wish was granted.

This ladies and gentlemen is the wish that gave us nova shenron.

This arc was the best in my opinion. At this point Tenshinhan was the only one left that could do anything Krillen Master Roshi, Chaotzu and most of the martial artists were dead, Yamcha was still badly injured from his fight with Tenshinhan and Goku was thought to have also died. They had no Dragonballs so everything seemed hopeless

So, shenron restored king picollo's youth, only to be destroyed by him in return? Talk about ingratitude

In my opinion this it the biggest mistake they've done with Dragon Ball. Shenron should have remained a mysterious and immortal being, and they've done the same in Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods, making him a pussy. His origins should have been mysterious too. Too bad.

I guess that the reason Shenron is "eternal" is because as long as his master is alive he can be reborn as many times as needed. Or as proven with Dende that he can be reborn as long as there is a Namekian.

This happened long before DBZ. This was a chilling, sad, but bad ass scene. King Piccolo was a mega bad-arse. This scene also pissed me off! Although Shenron is not a fighting dragon. His power is in granting wishes. What's funny? If a mere Sabiman showed up it would wipe the floor with all Dragonball characters, lol.

The good Dragon was killed by this being (with a PL of around 250) and GT has the most powerful villain in the series appear as a dragon created from the negative wishing power of these here puny dragonballs. Makes perfect fucking sense, right?

This was completely unprecedented when I first saw it. As I've said on other Dragon Ball Videos; the english dub was released in the West AFTER the english Dub of Dragon Ball Z was such a big thing; so most western fans actually started on Dragon Ball Z instead of Dragon Ball. When I saw Shenron in Dragon Ball Z; I always thought that he was such a power beyond powerful thing, that could warp reality with a thought. I thought that he'd effectively be indestructible if not intangible - like the Genie from Aladdin... Then imagine my surprise when I saw THIS happen... The idea that someone being able to KILL Shenron was completely unheard of back from what I had seen. But what was even more terrifying than that, was the fact that someone like King Piccolo was able to do it. And that's part of the fact that I saw Z before Dragon Ball; despite how impressive Piccolo was at the time, he was still weaker from what I knew was coming.

R.I.P. Shenron.
