Sherlock Holmes was a detective television series aired in syndication in the fall of 1954, based on the Sherlock Holmes stories of Arthur Conan Doyle. The 39 half-hour mostly original stories were produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France by Guild Films, starring Ronald Howard as Holmes and H. Marion Crawford as Watson.

He was a great actor but the writing and production values were better in the Granada series with Brett. I enjoy both. The Sheldon series is very good but the episodes are too short to have a big impact

Great episode, intentionally funny but now cringe. I love these old Sherlocks, but you can't deny they didn't age well. Here we learn the simple vintage humor of domestic violence. It was a knee slapper!

These seem more like a comedy than a serious show. This is the same lady who was in another episode. This is only my 2nd one I watched. How odd that it's the same actress.

I have noticed the same with the SH with Geoffrey Whitehead. The first episode shows an actor as the villain but in one of the last the actor is a good guy. Apparently an actor can be re-used after a length of time. I man I know has a daughter who was in one episode and after time returned as a different character (In modern tv.)

@@TheKoolbraider When TV was in it's prime the networks were very busy pushing out the different episodes on hundreds of shows, so I guess its possible to reuse actors, but, NOT on the same series, in the same season.

BC is a good actor, but Sherlock is dreadful, with some of the worst writing in any SH production
