I also think that sherlock realized that molly loved him. sure he knows that she likes him and is attracted to him but like with john asking him to be his best man I think it was a similar situation.

But the words on the coffin were for someone who loves Sherlock and not who Sherlock loves. And it was no name on it, because it was actually about Mollys feelings for Sherlock. Remember, Molly was to slow to respond, for that reason said Sherlock it the second time more seriously. He would have said it a third and fourth time til she finally answered him. But when Sherlock would be really in love with Molly, why he was not happy about the confession? And Molly too? All would have been happy, episode end. Sherlock and Molly together. But nothing of this. Of course Sherlock loves Molly, but only like a friend. And it's stated by Steven Moffat that Molly was also in the series to show that Sherlock actually is not interested in women. For Moffat and Gatiss was it just always a "Sherlock and John" story, because they are huge fans of the original ACD canon.

I believe Sherlock does have feelings for Molly. He stated himself that emotions is what's holding people back and not making people "think" properly. Which would result in him not being able to do his job like he does at the moment. And besides Molly would be in danger like John is at times, if he confessed. Plus the second time he said 'I love you' to Molly, that sounded really sincere. And through out the whole series, he seems pretty jealous (in his kind of way) whenever Molly introduces a new boyfriend or love interest. Like when Molly dated Tom, Sherlock kept asking about the relationship and we all know that if he didn't feel anything for her, he couldn't care less, because that's how he is. He's not interested in people he doesn't care about.

Oh gosh I love anything relating with MBTI - I'm an INFJ myself actually. I figured that Sherlock is most likely an INTJ, but his emotional reaction when he was destroying the coffin spoke volumes. I love and hate that scene so much!

INTPs are often mistaken for sociopaths (most even wear the label with pride). Sherlock, as portrayed in this iteration: -Is not emotionally intuitive. -He rarely demonstrates even a modicum of empathy. -He almost never goes out of his way to avoid conflicts with others. -He's not driven to retain an harmonious state with those around him. -He's a terrible listener, unless he's intellectually curious about what's being said. These characteristics eliminate him from the INFJ pool. I wouldn't argue strongly against Sherlock being slotted into the INTJ template, but INTP does seem a better fit. I never once considered Sherlock falling under the INFJ spectrum (I'M an INFJ, but I know he's certainly not). I have a close friend who I've known for 8 years and happens to be an INTP. She doesn't act much like what you've described, but I sometimes wonder if she was somehow mistyped (perhaps she wasn't truthful when taking the test, but I'm not sure). Sometimes she seems to fit the INTP personality a lot, but in other instances she simply doesn't (she acts rather emotional for an INTP in my opinion). I've been leaning towards the idea of Sherlock being an INTJ for the most part, but I've occasionally wondered if perhaps he's an INTP instead. In my opinion he seems to act very much like an INTJ, and I've also heard that INTJ's can turn towards maladaptive coping habits such as alcohol/drug abuse when stressed, and become more snippy and impatient. Granted, everyone's different, and I'm not an INTJ myself, but it's just my personal speculation that he might be an INTJ. But I can also see where he could be an INTP.

@@NightDreamer37 - If an INTP has been pushed out of their comfort zone or had their intelligence doubted or outright challenged, they can blow their lid. It's not that we don't have extreme emotions-- we just really don't like feeling the emotions and definitely prefer not to outwardly express them, because doing so makes us feel naked. If your friend was honest when she took the test and is in fact an INTP and she reveals the volatile emotional side of herself to you, she definitely trusts and respects you. As I said, I wouldn't argue strongly against Sherlock being slotted into the INTJ template instead of INTP. As a fictional character, his traits are chosen and emphasized for dramatic effect. They are closer to affectations than the faceted idiosyncrasies found in real people.

He is an INTJ. Even thinkers have feelings which they express in certain situations which Sherlock did. INTJ are as much human as INFJ, or any other MBTI type, we are humans not robots, so even thinkers will have feelings which they will show deeply in extreme cases and normally in general cases.

Sherlock talked about Molly's hair and lipstick because he was manipulating her, that's all. And other observations he makes are disparaging (his weight, mouth and small breasts). He notices John's things much more than Molly's, as we can see well in his speech at John's wedding. Hell, he even noticed that John "does that thing with peas"! The biggest change in Molly and Sherlock's relationship is that he came to respect Molly as she deserves. But then to be in love there is a very large chasm. I would not mind Irene. In the original canon, ACD wrote that Holmes was not in love with Irene, and at the BBC show, Irene is a lesbian, so this is it.

It's nowhere in the series stated that Sherlock might be asexual. Benedict said once that Sherlock avoid sex for a reason, because it would get in the way of his work. But its not the real meaning of asexuality. Asexuality is a spectrum, which have to do with it when a person doesn't feel sexual attraction towards other people or doesn't have a sex drive and for one of this reasons is not interested in sex. And, to be honest, Sherlock doesn't make the impression of an asexual person to me.

molly is a pathologist whom sherlock comes to for a free access to dead bodies - it started that way but they eventually grew closer after sherlock asks her to help him fake his death (she was the only one who knew about it apart from sherlock’s brother). then after he came back to life, john (sherlock’s bff) was angry with him so sherlock again enlists molly’s help for a day to solve crimes with him and they grew even closer - they comfortably became friends. and season 4 gets us that i love you and that coffin smashing scene :)

Some fans of the show think Sherlock is in love with Molly, but he is not. Only Molly is.

To me it made sense, it's not exactly a declaration for love, it's just that Eurus knows his weakest point that sherlock himself doesn't want to accept and admit (sherlock loving molly). So the "i love you" in the coffin is like eurus saying "ok sherlock if you don't make her say i love you by admiting (to sherlock himself) that you actually love her, the next time you actually realize and admit that you love her, you will be saying that to a coffin". And not even in his palace mind, Sherlock's most intimate part, did he see Molly as remotely romantic. Most importantly, if Eurus wanted to see Sherlock admit his supposed secret love, why didn't she mention it? It was something that would be of great interest to her to see and play ironically in his face. Rather, the words "look what you did to her ... look what did to you" give the impression that something is seriously wrong. Eurus says this test was "easy" probably because, not wanting to risk his friend's life, Sherlock chose to take the easy way out, lie to Molly, say the words, rather than deduce that there was no bomb in his apartment. So I don't really see anything romantic here, but someone desperately wanting to save a friend.

This man can be asexual, but then he would show no sexual attention to anyone and is simply not interested in having sex. Or he only repressed these feelings, because his work is more important to him, (actually married to his work). But it's fact, that Sherlock Holmes is not interested in women or in a relationship with one of them. A girlfriend or wife would only distract him from his work, because his work will always comes first for him and his best and true friend John Watson. More he don't need. Of course he loves Molly, but only as a friend. Irene Adler said him in this way "Thank you for saving me" before she started in a new life. Sherlock is vibrant and adventurous, and needs someone to get along with him. Sherlolly fans have to admit that it is at least strange Sherlock's devotion to his blogger, to the point of risking everything for him, work, health and life. If Sherlock was in love with Molly, he would never risk it because he would think of her first. But not. Sherlock only sees John in front of him. He is not happy without his friend, he does not have life without him. John asked Mrs. Hudson in TLD if she had asked for help to Mycroft, or Molly to help Sherlock and she was quite straightforward: 'They are not important, you are!' And we know that Mrs. Hudson knows Sherlock better than anyone else (she proved it in TLD) Seriously, it's supposed to be that love for the woman of your life should overcome the love of your best friend, but that does not happen to Sherlock! No one is blind, not even Sherlolly fans. How can she be 'the love of her life' if she is always placed second in his life and, in some cases, nowhere? Heck, if Moffitis goes season 5 and has Sherlolly in it, then Sherlock has really changed his address. He will not be on Baker Street 221, but in Beverly Hills 90210, or Melrose Place.

And you could see it in Sherlocks face that he didn't want to examine by Molly. Johns opinion counted more to him. On the question who would be Sherlocks true romantic love interest in the series he answered: "I think it would be Molly, right?" I can only hope, that he meant that not seriously. It was on a post on Instagram. But about Irene he told us the same. What is that? I don't know what I think about it, really.

Truth. sometimes I run into some Sherlolly fanart and, though beautiful, it sounds so ... nonsense. I think, "How can you? You can not even imagine this scene because Sherlock seems so oblivious to Molly! Their relationship is just brotherly kisses on the cheek!" It just is not there. Remember that Ben is a gentleman, he is watching the drama of the character Molly and he knows that she is the young lady in love with the hero (that's him), so nothing more politically correct than saying what he says. But do you notice that he also talked about Irene, and that, before talking about the girls, he plays with "Johnlock"? He always does this when asked. He always talks first, 'John!', And then he starts laughing and talks about Molly (or Irene) I even think it's funny and I say, 'Ben looks like John when he says' I'm not gay!' "I hope Moffitis does not change idea and modify the beautiful end of season 4, that everything remains as it is and Molly remains just like a great friend of the detective. PS. I can't take this and imagine this for myself. Most of this things are so silly and I can't take it seriously. I mean, when you read the stories by ACD or watch the Granada Holmes - which is a great series too - there is never a woman in Sherlock Holmes life too. He and and his loyal and close friend John Watson are living in a flat and solving crimes together, and this for lifetime. And the creators of "Sherlock" only followed that. But of course I want to see little Rosie again. I know these series, but I don't ever watch it.
