I actually look forward to these stories during my seemingly endless mindless time spent plowing fields on a tractor. Simply because I’ve found the very engaging and well read set of mysteries of Sherlock Holmes. Great job folks! You’ve helped an old plow boy enjoy his hrs driving a tractor, feeding the world. Sounds lofty, but trust me, very monotonous! Don’t fear for my safety as the pause button is often pressed. LOL!

Your bit about the copyright expirations got me curious so I looked it up. It's not quite Jarndyce & Jarndyce but quite a tangle. I always loved this story because I grew up by the sea and it's the only Holmes story I ever read where I guessed the villain before he did. Thanks for another great listen on a cold winter night

Much as I do like this story, I am amazed that once Holmes knew what caused the first death, he did not take steps to eliminate the cause, rather than take time to explain things, which took quite a while. Not like Holmes at all!

I love how Holmes is often thought of as introverted, but he's able to make friends and hang out with people, in contrast to the mathematician. Holmes is the sociable kind of introvert.

It would be fun to hear one l remember from a film about several music boxes with one giving a clue to Holmes.

Well, this one case doesn't do much for the idea of Mr Holmes's great intellect lol ***Spoiler below*** Maybe I'm being harsh and he is just unaccustomed to the ocean, and so wouldn't know the common warnings given since childhood to those close to it. I'm from the opposite side of the Atlantic, but as soon as the marks and pain were mentioned my thoughts went to a jellyfish sting or something similar.

And when I read this was recorded in sunny Lincolnshire, I had my doubts it was actually sunny there in January. So I had to searched the map for where is Lincolnshire, England. So I think you made the joke n,est pas?
