In this new portrait video, Sherrie paints a male subject with dreadlocks in a demo she did a few years ago at Matt Zoll’s studio in Baltimore, Maryland. Addressing her class, Sherrie takes away the distinction between various subject matters and assures them that the same painting problems always apply.
Sherrie chose to paint her subject in full light to enhance his bone structure, which was integral in inspiring her painting. Watch as her paint morphs from thick, juicy brushstrokes into a living, breathing subject.

From my point of view, Leffel provides a more profound philosophical view on painting, while Sherrie is capable of communicating/teaching technique aspects very didactically. They are both awesome.

show the viewers a photo of the guy how he is posed, not with that caught red handed grin on his face. it makes looking at the photo worthless cause that is not what she sees.
