PVC Vikram Batra was running a temperature(high fever) before going to pt 4875. He was advised not go for the attack but he volunteered to go. That was the soldier. RESPECT.

Kiara Advani revealed, "We shot the scene at the same location where Captain Vikram Batra's last rites were performed in Palampur. When Capt Vikram Batra was martyred, the entire city and town had come to the funeral from all over to pay their respects to the braveheart, to recreate the same, we had a lot of junior artists on the set. Vishal Batra, Captain Vikram Batra's twin brother was also present on the set that day, I was heavily emotional, so I told Vishnu Sir I would want to do only one take, he decided to take my close up shot first to capture the emotions. While the camera was on me and I was emoting I could hear sniffles all around me because the entire crew, including the junior artists, all other co-actors, despite not being in the frame, were all teary-eyed, even though they weren't supposed to cry. We all resonated with the feeling of immense gratitude for the sacrifice of captain Vikram Batra, it didn’t feel like we were performing, we re-lived July 11th, 1999.”

A military general actually mentioned this in his interview that several hurt soldiers in kargil battle refused to go back down as it would take 2 men at least to take them down, and they were ok with dying rather than weakening their unit's chances to capture the points.

Some of my family and friends are in armed forces , I said the same thing to them but my friends said " A country can't sustain as a country if you have either soldiers or politicians , we need both . They know they're gonna die in war but the thing is sovereignity comes at a cost . No soldier wants war but once war happens they're not backing down . Politicians do work actually that's called diplomacy , war comes when diplomacy fails . BTW all the war we fought are not our politicians mistake because we never invaded anyone but the enemies did . A man's responsibility is to protect his family and his country . If we just go and make friendship with enemies compromising our rights then that's an insult to our ancestors who fought for our wellbeing .

Yes. Pakistanis refused to accept the bodies of their dead soldiers. Right from the outset Pakistan had claimed that it was terrorists and not Pakistani army; however, i cards were recovered from the pockets of the dead soldiers and we, the Indian army gave a full religious burial to them......we also gave them Guard of Honor

Kargil war was one of the deadliest war we faced. I cannot believe that he died only in 24 years. I don't know how his family and dimple maam had been strong at that time. I can literally relate bcoz my father is a soldier and he was also in kargil war. At that time, it was very hard time for my mother and grandma to spend every single moment. But luckily my father won 🏆💪!!

all the dialogues and scenes like cutting finger and applying the blood has sindoor, madhuri dixit joke all these things are actually true ,if you watch his brother's interviews all these things actually happened as Captain Vikram Batra loved bollywood and was very filmy sometimes ...I loved the movie cauz great job done by Siddharth Malhotra and others n also they presented the story in its true form

I knew about Major Vikram Batra around Kargil & remembering each year around kargil diwas. I watched this movie and really had a feel of how the guy thinks.He really meant “Yeh Dil Maange More”. The strature of Mr Batra is so great that his regiment still waits for his supper to be served before anyone takes their servings. Jai Hind 🇮🇳
