It's been awhile since i have showed you all around the shade garden so I thought I would do a shade garden tour. It's tough to do a summer garden tour because it is so hot especially in Texas gardening, but this zone 8 garden tour is sure to please!

I love, love the fairy gardens. They would make me smile every time I caught sight of them. The cuphea wants to be in full sun. That's why it doesn't look happy. It's great that you have created a sweet little private spot for yourself.

I fell in love with your shade garden during your garden tour this spring, Amanda. We didn't get to chat about it, but I could have sat in there all day! So lush and peaceful! Those hydrangeas and begonias are stunning! I would be obsessed too. You are giving me ideas again because I have no shade over here in my area of north 'Texas. You always paint with flowers and plants such a beautiful garden!. And your daughter has your touch with those sweet fairy gardens. I'm ancient and I still love a cute fairy garden.

I think it's a dream come true! Looks like your sweet daughter has inherited your artistic genes as her fairy gardens are absolutely delightful and magical! Such a fun hobby! Congratulations Amanda for the shade garden. Is so beautiful,!!! The hydrangea and begonia are so gorgeous all the plants that you chose are beautiful. In the video we see the kid statue is so beautiful near to plants, but up of her head is the pipe. Maybe you can hide the pipes that are on the right and left in the back wooden divider with hanging pots with flowers or climbing plants.❤😊

Happy you showed us the shade garden. The progress is amazing. It is really begining to have a lush secret garden look and feel. The 3 tiered begonia planter is stunning. I am also obsessed with tuberous begonias. I've overwintered them and taken cuttings. Love the leopard plant and immediately ordered 2 from Bluestone. I garden under large shade trees and moist areas so think they will be perfect for my shade garden. Your tomatoes, outside the shade garden, look fabulous.

I love begonias! After trialing MANY kinds of plants in my front sidewalk pots, last year I finally found a plant that can handle my neglect 🤣 my sidewalk pots are not hooked up to drip, so when I got busy and didn't water them everyday, everything would droop horribly. The begonias don't miss a beat if I forget to water them for a few days. And the blooms are always beautiful, and you never even notice the spent blooms because the petals fall off on their own. I actually got the mixed pots from Walmart last year from Better Homes and Gardens. Don't sleep on Walmart! Each pot had begonias and creeping jenny and provided fuss free interest until frost. I love your shade garden!

Really love the shade garden and all the growth and the fairy gardens. For a shade area cover You could consider the camping awnings. They often have center poles. Sometimes the poles get bent and ppl throw out on trash day or have for free on marketplace. That cover is higher MM and more durable. Or you could just use the frame or just use the cover. I am always redoing things I find for free so I can “make do”. Also I am CHEAP! And into re-using/re-purposing. I then decorate the area. lol. In fact I am going out now to zip tie some bambo stakes to one of my bent poles to reinforce it. ENJOY! Jeff is a great camera guy for you. Thank you, Jeff.

Good morning. Love your shade garden. On the lung wort plant, the white spots are actually air pockets so that in the summer if you forget to water for the day it uses these to help keep it cool. Hense why it is called spot on lung wort. May you and Jeff get well soon. Take it easy.

Hi 😊 , Thank you so much for sharing your fairy shade garden this morning. It's so pretty and it distracted me from the rain, which is pouring down again. @shesamadgardener Thanks 😊. By the way you're going to love Alaska. My youngest son lived there for 5 years. He's only been back in TX. for 2 years. On his very first day in Anchorage Alaska he saw 3 moose standing in the yard . He sent me a Pic. They were taller than the cars. He sent me pics all the time. Gorgeous place. He did some work for a contractor who is remodeling his house. They became friends and he flies my son back and forth to Anchorage when he needs my sons help. Now that's a friend to have.

just gorgeous! So what have you lined the top basket in the top corner with, sphagnum moss? And what variety of fushias are those which are actually thriving in hot and humid conditions? I had one but it suddenly just gave up. I try and try each year but when the heat hits any fushia craters. Any hints? On your sail, is it possible to angle it more so that the water flows towards the exit gate and then being directed into one of these decorative water retention containers? I've seen some that look like planters. I could get all out there with a thought such as installing a 2x4 attached to your fence and angled downwards towards your house. Attach a gutter to that and then attach your sail to the angled 2x4.... or something like that. You're creative, take it from there!😅
