I am a straight guy (no offense to anybody) in my early 60's, and I am NOT afraid to say that I have a Man-Crush on Douglas Henshall. Sublime acting, no fuss, understated, and of course handsome! I could identify with the father in him because I've two daughters. I understand Jimmy's ethics and moral dilemma, and of course his heartbreaks, because sometimes we go through the same struggles and conflicts. But we wake up the next day, always with the hope that mankind will sort it out!

Archie Panjabi [Asha]has a real presence about her and I was hoping to see more of her in Shetland! She has been in other movies, doing a very good job, I must add, [cf. Departure]so I had hoped more could have been made of her role in Shetland! Any chance of a come-back in some way or other, maybe as a high-ranking official liaising with the police? Just a thought!

I agree although at present he is in Network but a new series is coming up next year so keep your chin up. In Ann Cleeves new book coming up, she has I think decided against bumping Perez off with appeals from her fans, stressing how upset they would be, including myself if a new series was made with such a drastic conclusion. I hope the scriptwriters take that on board or they will have a very upset audience, especially as Dougie Henshall takes on the role, with his splendid acting, they would see him as synonymously as Perez.
