Eh... it's a nice looking product but I have to be cynical and say $89 for something with proprietary fans is not enticing. If aesthetics are not important, something like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin is a MUCH better buy. I have used one before and was pretty impressed with it being under $40.

Love the DRP5 for the easy install and great performance. And, to my suprise, I ended up using the included magnetic screwdriver as pretty much the only tool needed for the whole build.

Looks nice, but as many pointed out, proprietary fans are a bit of a let down, its pretty much the only thing that can break on air cooler and not being able to just grab any standard fan is not really appealing. Personaly I'll most likely stick around and continue recommending 4 pro as long as its supported for new sockets

Was really excited when I saw Dark Rock Elite, however, fans arent easily replacable and its also missing the offset option for AM5. Latter holds true for Dark Rock Pro 5 too. Its still decent, but I expected a bit more at this price point.

I know that RGB junk doesnt have to be hooked up but I appreciate products that don't have it. I am not an RGB person and my home office doubles as our guest bedroom so the wraith cooler with RGB was not a popular option.

I feel like the dark rock pro 4 installation being difficult is over stated, didn't find it to be difficult at all. The performance improvement for the price isn't worth it to me right now, if the dark rock pro 5 was inbetween the pro 4 and elite i might consider the pro 5 for my next build, but if not I'll just get the pro 4

I have 3 Dark Rock Pro 4, I love these coolers, these replaced my Noctua NH-D15 as well(Noctua produces a higher pitched noise which is unpleasant). I’ll have to wait for an unbiased review though before deciding on these ones, like Gamers Nexus

I used the Dark Rock Pro 4 on SO many builds for clients, especially or higher TDP cpus when they didn't want an AIO (which i dont recommend for folks who i know wont do maintenance) I never found it to be hard to install at all. The screwdriver is actually nice :) im not sold on the custom fans and the 4 did include a splitter in the box anyway. But i do love the perma installed bracket at the bottom, that should have been like this from the get go

This review had a lot of the information I was looking for, AND on a CPU nearly equivalent to mine (your 7900X3D to my 7800X3D. Everyone else is using intel CPUs) so thank you so much for that. Though, it was hard to find your video because you didn't mention the Dark Rock Elite in your title. I went over this video many times thinking you were only going to talk about the pro 5 and not the elite, and I was specifically searching for the elite. Just my 2 cents. Cooler seems great, and I bought it! (Cheaper than the AIO I was gonna go for, and not too much temp difference)

I wonder why other sources claim this cooler is not good for the 7800x3d etc. because of the offset. He doesn't seem to have any problems. Wanted to get the Elite but now I am not sure

They look stunning and probably perform wonderfully. But the Elite is an odd business decision. To begin with, the custom fans put unnecessary pressure on the manufacturing process. Guess what's easier to build: 1. A dual tower cooler with standard 140 mm fans, and a typically gorgeous, three-sided shroud to cover the heatsink and the fans. 2. A dual tower cooler with a custom 130 and another custom 135 mm fan, both of them having complex attaching mechanisms, as well as separate shrouds which together look anything but cohesive. I am and will remain a huge Be Quiet fan, but they missed an opportunity to create a dual 140 mm fan cooler. With a TDP of over 300W, such a cooler would have the potential to stay at the top of the benchmarks for as long as the NH-D15 did.

Can it be rotated ninety degrees on AM5? The Noctua NHD15 makes an airtight seal against the back of the GPU in the default orientation, while rotating it blocks two PCIe slots. Something narrower would be good

be quiet! is a brand I avoid now. I bought a Dark Power 13 power supply and its fan had low rumbling noise that made it sound like a loud truck was idling outside. I got a replacement unit and its fan had a loud ticking noise that sounded similar to when a fan is running at slightly too low of voltage to keep spinning smoothly. I would have thought noise would have been prioritized for a company that markets on silence.

...well that's a first. Never heard anyone complain about the mounting of the DRP4 before. I rather like it, way better than the tiny-wrench-insanity Scythe used to do. Plus you got an extra long screwdriver. :D The new ones kinda disqualify themselves to me with the non-standard fans, which is a shame. Are there still mounting brackets included for IF you want to use another set of fans?

I have no doubt these are great. I have a smaller be quiet! cooler and am a fan. I would like to see these run on a 7900X, 7950X or i9 Intel from the 13 or 14 series. The 7900X3D doesn't consume nearly as much wattage as its non-X3D linemate. The X3D chips are way below in terms of heat output.

Sorry, this is a complete NO WAY for me. They cost far too much, and use proprietary fans. They've lost my business. You can't take the one big advantage of an air cooler, of being easy to fix; and make it into a basic throw away part. If I can't just grab another fan and keep my system running, then you've lost the entire reason I use an air cooler....customer fans with custom connectors WTF are they thinking. Big nope from me, looks like my DR4 will be the last from BeQuiet

People say that Ryzen 7000 uses less power then Intel but Ryzen 7000 uses 75-90% more power then Ryzen 1000. So Ryzen efficiency is ever declining
