You also can't moralize love. Or idealize martyrdom. Appreciate second chances. There are many people who love those they no longer have a choice to be with and have to keep their distance for their own safety and/or sanity. But choosing to keep their distance doesn't make their love any less.

I've heard this grom my psychologist recently. I was tolding about my life, problems and how I thought my interpretation was, according to some readings, some specialists I've watched talking about all those thing... and he instantly said that how I rationalize is a mechanism to be apart of processing emotions. It's how I kept them away from me...

We maintained a distance and he willingly sought therapy, engaged with and completed over 3 months and I saw a huge change in him. We got back together in 2022. I'm 37. Been with my wife 22 years. She seen every raw emotion I can express. Shia and Jon really have this experience...What it's like to be in such a dark place & understand what a "real one" is. Cheers to both of them. I'm in a dark place right now, but I know I have a real one...There is a burden there...a weight you don't want anyone to bare for you. But they stand tall anyway.

Im 22 and what I've learned recently is that a lack of compassion for yourself is the most difficult place to be in. We need to allow ourselves to be vulnerable with ourselves + others and not judge our emotions. When you feel so undeserving of a hand that you judge yourself for feeling those emotions and being in the state that you're in, is the moment in which you need others to offer you a wave of compassion and love the most. And in that way, we all strengthen each other.

@@omeboy487 Yeah, you know... did you ever hear about that warlord guy in africa who slaughtered tons of people then turned to god and now he hangs out with their families? I think you can gradually shift who you are, and make amends but completely accepting someone's shift on a dime sounds like some new age horsesh*t frankly. Shia has always been a very melodramatic individual, so his pining for sympathy here is actually in line with who he's always been - someone seeking attention. It's not much more deep than that. A very childish trait you seem to endorse.

I’ve watched this video multiple times and the full 2 hour episode. Absolutely Phenomenal! Shia’s strength in his vulnerability is that of 10,000 men! I’m so proud of his turn around, so proud of owning his shit, no excuses, no blame, complete and full acceptance of his human being - raw truth! ❤

I’ve always enjoyed Shia’s acting and films, for the most part. He is at times odd and confusing, also problematic but who isn’t? I think he’s got a good heart and like the rest of us truly tries to remain positive in a negative world.

This breaks my heart because I spent 6 years wishing my ex would open his eyes to how much I really loved him.. I literally spent 2 weeks mourning him thinking he was dead due to addiction.. it broke me.. yeah he got sober and hes with someone else and its gotten to a point where I dont feel anything anymore but man.. hearing S cry.. made me cry .. I'm due in 2 weeks with our 2nd child and we dont even speak because he hates me.. blames me for everything its just.. yeah

❤ wow. I love him and Mia so much. This just made me love them even more. Marriage is NOT easy, it isnt bliss, it isnt happy ever after. Marriage is a lot of work. I remember people telling me that when i was engaged and i rolled my eyes. Never. Not us. But everyone goes through ups and downs. Everyone. What matters is how we navigate it. How we choose to keep loving. ❤

The way his brain works is really interesting. Putting together a coherent (in Shia terms) view on love and his relationship towards love and acceptance and growing whilst incorporating the imagery that still defines him. I hope he gets a grasp on that artistic part of his imagination when he’s better. His understanding, with time and healing will be even better and I’m sure will allow him to tap into that strange greatness he has even more clearly and healthily. Stay strong brother.

But I see now that Shia is sober and in a much better place, I hope he stays that way. Wishing Shia, Mia and their daughter all the best, I hope they remain happy and healthy

It's hard to be loved and show love at times. Shia puts this into the light, and is so raw and emotional.. Shia is looking so sober these days. So happy he got help, he was hitting the bottom.
