@drytool I assumed they will shave too similarly. I just enjoyed the satin/gray color of the SS and wanted both options 🤣 If I do note a shave difference yes I will do a video.

@kolbenklaus1969 I’ve made 2 videos I have no published yet. One is the Romulus open vs closed comb. The other is shield vs Romulus open comb. I have not published them yet because yaqi is out of stock already. Didn’t want to tease everyone 🤣. They are both great choices. I like the matte grip the shield offers for the handle. Shave wise they are very very close. The OC Romulus is the best OC I’ve ever used. Low blade feel but not boringly so & artist club efficiency.

@steverosenblum823 this is a Yaqi 30mm barber pole synthetic brush model # R1734 it’s an absolute lather monster. About $25 and definitely one of my favorites to face lather with.

Nonsolorasatura9093 i have only tried the schick p30 in this razor. I’ve tried those other blades in my razororock hawk V2 and kamisori. I actually do have an Excalibur. I only tried it once & it was rough. I noted after the shave the blade was a tiny bit crooked. You can manipulate the head and make it even. The tolerances are not great on the Excalibur. I haven’t tried it again. Not sure where I put it. I’ll try it again. I highly suggest the yaqi Romulus it’s much better build quality & shaves far closer to this shield. The shield is more efficient then the Romulus closed comb a tiny bit. The open comb Romulus is fantastic and much closer to the shield. I did a review on them but yaqi is out of stock for a week or so. I’ll publish the videos soon.

@gotobecrazy the schick p30 hands down. Next would be the feather professional but the schick p30 is smoother.

@@Stubblemeetssteel Cool 👍. I see there all kinds guarded, unguarded, mild, sharp lol. I should be getting my stainless Shield AC soon. Have you tried the Shield Gem Razor yet? Only issue I have not much blade choices.

@gotobecrazy yes lots of blade choices. I tried the feather pro guard 1st, then Kai titan mild, feather professional and now the p30. I have the shield Gem in aluminum & did a review on it. It’s very nice if you like Gem razors. There are limited blade options but luckily the PTFE coated ones work very well and last double the shaves a DE does. I’ve heard the stainless steel non coated and even carbon steel treet blades are nice. So not as many options as DE but most like the PTFE ones.

@@Stubblemeetssteel Just received the stainless shield GEM. Kinda cool to have a modern GEM razor, I guess i can enter the rabbit hole lol. I was surprised the owner of shield Mike sent me a free single edge half de aluminum head. The AC razor has been great as well, blades are a bit more expensive.

@frankshaves I love both. If it’s closed comb Romulus I like the shield a little better. It’s more efficient but as smooth. The open comb Romulus is the nicest lower blade feel OC I’ve ever used. It’s wonderful. The handle on the shield has better grip since it’s a matte finish. The Romulus is polished 316l. Looks shiny but not as much grip. Yaqi is out of the Romulus. They said 1 week or so they will be back in stock.

@steverosenblum823 yaqi barber pole 💈 brush. It’s a 30mm synthetic knot. 57mm loft if I recall. Not a ton of backbone but lets the lather go very easily and it’s not floppy just not stiff on backbone. It’s one of my favorite brands brushes for a face lather.
