Hey guys, this was a pretty last minute decision to make a video for this song but I just had to do it. Last night I was in that certain state of mind where you lose yourself in the music - that feeling where you can close your eyes and almost feel every single note resonate within you to your very core. I don’t have those types of moments very often so I had to take advantage and capture that feeling on video.
During the recording I almost felt as if time around me had stopped and I was the only person in the world who was moving; playing my piano in the darkness and enveloping the Earth in music. It'd been a while since I'd felt so alive.

The Shigatsu OSTs are always my favorite to improvise on!! I love the little harmony improvisation at 0:49 and onwards, where the melody and harmony get interweaved due to the proximity of range. Kudos to all the glittery arpeggios you add in :) Also the left hand part at 2:49 is great! The power and straightforwardness of 4:14 and the original material at 4:46 are very special :) It's so clever how the ending ties in with the beginning! My favorite part is definitely 3:18 though. The bouncy left hand parts are such a refreshing contrast.

Thank you for making this. I've been having a really bad day. I lot of stuff went really south today and for the past hour I've been just really angry at just everything. In a moment of frustration I went on KZfaq to just watch something, anything and I decided to click on your video. I glad I didn't pass it by, your improvisation for Your Lie in April was amazing and one of the best I've heard. Definitely one of my favorite piano covers I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Keep going and find more moments like this where nothing matters but the music in the moment.

Then, I felt as I refresh something inside of me, now, I am free. I love you, Brenda, you are great, you are smart and funny. I was having trouble with my utterances because I started to stutter a lot, more than before, but my brother helped me a lot and when I listened to this song I could uplifting me and complete my task, tell me that I love me.

Are you perfect pitch? Like how do you improvise something so awesome at the top of your head? Is it trainable to get to this level of improvisational playing?

You don't need perfect pitch for improvisation, but you will need relative perfect pitch which totally can be trained.
