Back wind all the time never bought a reel without that feature but then I fish fresh waters only.

Not much you can say about a run-of-the-mill Shimano really. The spare spool being metal is nice as are the reducers. A single handle option would be nice.

I have a pair and a single handles are £10 each.

I like this reel, but wish they’d added some of the tech from other reels, like Hagane, a direct screw handle and a spool without so much play in it. They feel good in the hand, but are just a bit rickety. I’d pay double for a truly premium feeling 4000 baitrunner; sadly the Thunnus has fallen way behind the pack, despite still being their most costly and bearing-laden free spool.

Nice video! What is the line lay bit about? Uneven application of line - how do you sort that with washers? Cheers

In the box there are instructions and washers in case the line “cones” on the spool point up or down

Tell me, is this coil afraid of heavy and prolonged rains? and these two models Shimano Baitrunner X-AERO 2500FA and Shimano Baitrunner X-AERO 4000FA -the housings are the same in size, but only the spools are larger and smaller, or Shimano Baitrunner X-AERO 2500FA and the body is smaller and the leg is shorter on which it is is it holding up -than the Shimano Baitrunner X-AERO 4000FA ?

It’s ok in the rain (as it should be), but I’ve not tried the 2500 size I’m afraid

@@lurefishingforwrasseuk2588 please answer another question: can you measure the distance from the very top of the leg (at the base of the attachment) - and to the beginning of the spool, how many centimeters does the Shimano Baitrunner X-AERO 4000FA have there?
