The moocher plus 4000GT is a great reel for the price, I've owned two for the last 5 years and they have never skipped a beat, let alone show any signs of wear. Picked them up for $80 each, at that price they cannot be beat.

I have 2 Daiwa M one mooching reels with the anti reverse kits installed . Can’t put anti reverse on a Shimano 🤔 all in all tho mooching reels are handy , I use it like a fly reel when salmon spawn ..... use it on downriggers when I lake fish . Very simple internals ....: almost nothing can break but if it does then you can very easily replace it or adjust it to your liking . I’m sure shimano makes a decent reel but I prefer the anti reverse feature
