From Shimano the new Twinpower SW14000XG-C reel. I’ve upgraded the handle knob from the vile sticky heavy egg shaped knob to a Gomexus CNC knob - a significant improvement! Apart from the features mentioned in the video it also features:
Hagane body
Hagane gears
X Ship
X protect
X shield
X tough drag
ARC spool
Rigid support drag
S-ARB

I order a 47 mm Gomexus knob , too big , but i cant find 42 mm the have a 41 mm on the website, you think it will fit?

They’re really hard to find, I got one of the few available in the UK. Searching all the big shimano dealers in your area/Europe is the only advice I can give I’m afraid. There is one at this shop though www.mrfishjersey.com/products/shimano-sw-twin-power-14000-c-xg

Very nice reel, I have the Saragossa 14000 sw-a which is also nice, not as good as the TP though. The only question I have is why did you decide to spool it with PE8? I’d say 14000 reels are more for PE6 or PE5 (I think PE6 is spot on for a 14k). Also, in that way you can use the entire 300m that you buy rather than leaving 40-50m. Btw, great reel!

I didn’t want to go as big as a 20k as they’re HUGE and heavy (I have a Saragosa 20k for blue sharks). I was recommended to go for a 14k reel by a highly respected shop. To be honest a 14k and PE8 is a great combo (masses of power, HUGE drag, not to big, but big enough and not too heavy)

@@mgzw90 fair enough, 20k are indeed massive. At the end of the day is a personal choice and 14k with pe8 still works really good. If it was me I’d have chosen a 18k reel if I needed it for a pe8 rod and I needed pe8 for the type of fishing, but again that’s personal choice! Hope you’ll have fun in the Maldives !
