Eric Bradner if you are hauling lots of gear the X30 is small. I kind if wish I got the X50 some days. For looks and such I haven’t looked into Peters bag much. I didnt like the layout of it for what I do when he did his video. I love my X30 and I take it everywhere.

Hello! When you place your order through Shimoda, women choose which straps they want on the bag and they are free. It’s a choice under the color option for the bag and it’s says this “Female customers have the option of choosing a set of Women’s Straps below to be included with their order at no charge.”. So you choose which set of straps for women you want for the bag at that time. If you don’t choose an option you get the normal straps. If you missed that part I would contact Shimoda and let them know. I hope that helps.

@bladerealm124, I tried to get the link on FB but doesn’t allow me to do that. Go to Shimoda FB and scroll down and you’ll see images of the 16” fitting snugged inside the Action X. Doesn’t specify which version but I assume it if it fits the smallest (X30), it will fit with other two (X50 and X70). Also I believe Ian made a video where he traveled to Tokyo big tech shop and put the 16” MBP inside his X30. Just type in search for Shimoda X30 and I’m sure you’ll find it. I’ll see if I can get the link

Thank you! Well that is a tough one to answer. I would like to carry the Action X30 for a bit before I answer that one I think. The Atlas Athlete was very comfortable and so is the Explore 30L, so I am hoping the Action X30 will be as well. The Atlas however, boxes you in on storage space with your camera gear with the fixed internal compartment and I quickly outgrew that one. I will definitely do a comparison once I have a chance to use the Action X30 for a bit. Thanks again.

Well I like both bags but the Shimoda Action X 30 has been the one I now use all the time. I outgrew the Atlas Athlete quickly with a lens upgrade. I do like the layout of the Shimoda and how versatile it is.

Hello! The X30 takes the medium mirror less ICU and it fits the bag really well. I do have the regular medium icu and large icu for dslr cameras as well. The medium would fit the bag and be ok but the large is too big. Now I say that since I have used my large icu in the x30 but it really pushes on the bags stitching and also takes up all the available pocket space in the front of the bag. I wasn’t able to use the front zipper pocket of my bag at all. Shimoda announced the new Large Mirrorless ICU for the x30 and new version 2 explorer bags currently on Kickstarter. However I think the only way to get it right now is through Kickstarter but I could be wrong. Depending on what camera gear you carry, the medium mirrorless lets me carry my camera, a couple lenses, small round filter holder and batteries. Hmmm maybe I should do a video lol. Hope that helps.

Thank you! Well, I would say that they are both very good bags for what they offer. However, I do like the setup of the Shimoda bags better in terms of day hikers and everyday use. The Atlas is nice but I outgrew it quickly and I don't think I would do that with my Shimoda bags since they allow for an interchangeable ICU system. They are both good quality bags but the Shimoda gives you more options. Hope that helps.

Hello there! If you buy the bag as a kit then it will but no it’s doesn’t come with one. You buy the bag and icu separately. That gives you to opportunity to get the icu that fits your gear. The 30L works with only the one icu right now though but you can fit a small icu on top of the medium one. They have premade kits you can purchase. Hope that helps

forgewire honestly I wish I would have gotten the X50 as well instead of the X30. I can put my Olympus with the grip on it in the 30 on its side. That is how I normally pack my camera anyway. The X50 would give me just a little bit more room.

pgsanta I had this bag in light and moderate rain as well as a heavy snow fall and I got zero water inside my bag. I was not using the rain cover either. Let me check out the kickstarter page....thanks for the heads up!

Hello there! The Explore series has an internal 6061 T6 Aluminum frame and I would assume the Action X series would have either the same one or similar due to weight. I have sent a message to Shimoda to verify that and I will let you know as soon as I hear from them. I hope that helps.

Jobs Zaa I doubt you would be able to set up a two camera pull from the side on the x30. It is a thin side bag and big enough for one camera but probably not two.

I upgraded my large lens to the Panasonic 100-400mm and I outgrew that bag quickly.
