Personally I'm working right now on talking and thinking about Jonghyun positively and be focused on what he was doing. I'm not saying he was a bad person, he was a good person, but whenever I saw him in videos or hear his songs I would be like : "Oh it's great, oh it's funny... Oh he's dead... And he suffered..." And that would make me sad. It's not only Jonghyun but SHINee as a whole. If I can share my story, I became interested in SHINee after earing a lot about Taemin. I saw he was coming from that group so I checked and I really liked them. It was late 2017 during my last year of middle school, like October November, or maybe September, I don't remember. I discovered the members one by one and unfortunately, Jonghyun was the member I knew the less about when he died... When I learned the news it was a shock and I thought it was a joke but it wasn't. I cried but after that I was fine, just really sad for SHINee. Than after that, I thought I was okay with it, but every year (not necessarily during his birthday or the day he died) there will be a time when I thought about him and be sad about him. And I realized that I always felt a heavy weight when looking at SHINee's content or listening some songs. I would always feel bad about the members and Jonghyun as well, imagining what they went through. Even if it doesn't happen immediately I would be like "oh my god that's so funny/that song is awesome !" And then my brain would be like : "Yeah but do you remember that one member suffered to the point of killing himself ? Do you remember the videos of SHINee being sad about it ?" It would always come back to this and it pained me to see them with such a dark perspective. The worst is in funny compilations, you have one moment where you know he's still alive, than the next... He's not. That always shock me a little. I kinda feel bad about this because, I followed them really late and when it happened I didn't know them that well. I know unfortunately that some fans have it way harder than me. So I was like "come on what you feel is not that bad." But now I try to tell myself : "okay don't think about the negative, they try their best and they talk about him freely, Jonghyun is in a good place now, focus on his songs and how he was as a person and an artist, not his depression or his death". I try to stop seeing them with that dark weight, it's not their fault, they don't deserve it and we have to move on even if it's hard. They are still an amazing band, with amazing songs and really good and funny moments, not everything is dark. I just kinda feel like if I don't think about this I would forget about what happened and Jonghyun, but now I'm working on remembering positively. Plus their name is literally SHINee, like shine, I should see them like this, not the contrary. I think about Key's words a lot, he said that we should be healthy about it. Even after all these years it's still kinda hard but I'm trying my best. I love SHINee and I hope their comeback and new album will be successful, even though I have no doubt it will. I'm really sorry to talk about it that way, but I felt the need to talk about it because it bothered me and I think this comment section is a good place, I hope it doesn't bother other fans.
