Japanese prog is a whole different dynamic and I love it! It's got all the fine furnishings of what made early and even later U.K. and European prog awesome. But it doesn't stay tied to that dynamic at the risk of forfeiting its own identity. Thats what real inspiration is about.

I have this on vinyl, framed and hanging on display. I take it out to spin it on special occasions.

I wish they made more than just this one album

They do have another album, it’s called From A Distant Star. It contains music they wrote in the early 1980s before the end of their first run. They got back together in the 2000s and decided to finish it. It’s such a great album. Also the solo work of their lead singer Makoto Kitayama has a lot of collaborations with Shingetsu members and contains a lot songs originally written for the band.
