In honor of Black History Month, the Greenwich Historical Society welcomes Jeffrey Fletcher of the Ruby and Calvin Fletcher African American Museum for the first lecture in our 2024 Shining A Light series. Fletcher will share the mission and background of the creation and continued expansion of the museum and explore in greater detail the stories highlighted by the museum’s exhibits.
As part of this lecture, Fletcher will discuss details of the museum's exhibits, a collection of artifacts that reflect decades of turbulent times for African Americans in the United States during the period of slavery and the Civil Rights movement.
