They ruined his design that was perfectly fine in both OG Naruto and Shippuden, they made him incompetent and irrelevant as we saw how he got knocked out in one attack by this Ishiki Otsutsuki character or whatever Otsutsuki of the week it was at the time, which doesn't make any sense because by the time Boruto starts, Rock Lee is stated to have all 8 inner gates unlocked and he is promoted to Jonin and the Otsutsukis have been shown to absorb ninjutsu,but be weak to taijutsu, so Rock Lee is supposed to be good against them since he is a taijutsu expert and it doesn't make any sense for him to lose because he is supposed to be stronger than that. Their excuse for him being that weak was because according to them, "Rock Lee taking on the role of teacher has made him softer and he neglected his training, becoming weaker" which doesn't make any sense because Might Guy was a teacher and he was damaging Jubidara, so there's no excuse. Before anybody says that Rock Lee would not have been strong enough, even with eight inner gates, you're wrong becaue he was shown in the manga to be strong enough to destroy a meteor. By Boruto, he should be more than strong enough to take on the Otsutsukis and after that one time he tried to help against the Otsutsukis, but got knocked out in one attack, we never saw him again. They just made him completely irrelevant and useless and i find that infuriating because Rock Lee deserves better. Literally the most he got in Boruto was that he was the announcer of the Chunin Exams and that he fought against his son and not even his son was able to do him justice. Metal Lee is so disappointing in so many ways. The most he did was hold his own against Shinki, Gaaras son and i guess beat his father in a fight before he even knew how to open the first gate which embarrasses Rock Lee even more in Boruto... and other than those two things, they never did anything with Metal Lee after that ever again, not that i'd want to see his ugly ass around again anyway and that's another thing. Metal Lee's design sucks too because he just looks like a way shittier version of kid Rock Lee... I want to apologise for this message being so long, i just had a lot to get off of my chest with all this bull shit...

@@SantiagoOXfir What the fuck, your arguement makes no sense because he wasn't the main character in Shippuden and they still atleast showed him fighting from time to time and doing missions on the side and stuff like that atleast and the original naruto and shippuden showed stuff with the other characters too even if they weren't the main focus, it was still cool to see what they were up to from time to time. It breathed life into those shows. Boruto never shows what's happening with the other characters and it gets boring fast. I get tired of seeing Boruto's spoilt, ugly ass everytime they show something new with it and i get tired of seeing all these shitty antagonists and protagonists and you can't say that Rock Lee can't fight the Otsutsukis because they're "superbly" strong, like that's so vague. What do mean by they're "superbly" strong? Rock Lee is powerful enough to destroy a meteor and tap into all eight inner gates and the Otsutsuki's weakness is taijutsu, fool. I said that in my other comment and i'll repeat it one more time so i can get it through your thick skull: OTSUTSUKIS' WEAKNESS IS TAIJUTSU. ROCK LEE IS A TAIJUTSU EXPERT. Put two and two together, geez.

That’s what I was thinking… he could have used lighting or wind style to move the shiruken also. Boruto had plenty of options without cheating

That’s why Boruto has peak writing. He tried so hard to impress his dad that he forgot about everything even his own skills and went to the point of cheating if it meant to see his dad proud. He definetly had the skill and potential but ignored it because he was so eager and desperate to show Naruto his affection
