'Shiny Stockings' - tutorial - accompanying a jazz singer

Michelle sings this song - with new (and more acceptable) lyrics that she and one of her students wrote. The bass and drums backing was created in Real Tracks - an add-on to PG Music's 'Band in a Box' program. The piano was improvised from a leadsheet. No editing to the piano part has been done.

I'll be honest - I was prepared to not like the new lyrics, because the orginal set is classic. But you have won me over. Nice singing and playing. I like the pianists block voicing, both the locked hands and the Red Garland types.

So you are? .... a jazz piano player? An expert on improvisation? Is it incomprehensible or pedantic to you? The intention is not to impress people like you with theoretical explanations - rather it is to offer some practical help in the form of improvisational ideas to intermediate to advanced piano players. So sorry to have wasted your time.

Oh god! please don't do this anymore. The theoretical analysis of the improvisation is pedantic to anyone who understands it and incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't. instructo-FAIL
