Ship Catches Fire While Docking, Carnival Bans Cruiser

Cruise news today. An MSC cruise ship caught fire while docking on Monday morning. Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that they banned a cruise passenger for trying to re-seal a bottle of drinking water. The port of Southampton, England, sees 400,000 cruise passengers in May. Cruise line stocks for CCL, RCL, NCLH, and VIK.

The woman on carnival with the resealing of the water bottle trick was disgusting. That video circulated over a month ago. Happy to hear she was banned from cruising.

Lesson learned, don’t trust the water bottle in the room to be untampered. We’ve never used this bottle but went to the bar to get one or back when the room steward would bring a fresh one to the room as a gold+ VIFP loyalty card holder.

Morning Doug, Great update. Banning someone from Carnival and hopefully Carnival brand owned ships , means nothing. Just board NCL or RCL. Charges really needed to be raised. Very happy to hear no one was hurt on MSC. Thanks Doug.

Thanks Doug! Super glad the fire did not harm anyone nor cause any major damage to the ship. And thankfully it not the results of another ill advised cruiser. Which leads right into the “banned water tampering TikTok” person. That is so crazy to me. I had hoped that it was a “joke” all along but to post it on TikTok as if it were true was definitely not smart. smh. Good to see cruise ports around the world breaking records with increased cruisers. It’s sure an addiction. 44 days until my next one out of Long Beach, CA. We appreciate all the updates DP. Hello Doug. Would you know the correct answer about Juneau ? … I read that the 16k passenger limit was effective immediately. But other videos said not until 2026. Which one is correct ?

2026. It was my mistake. The MOU was an effectively immediately (2024) but that changed today, again!

A joke? Seems Carnival Cruise Lines didn’t see the humor. It makes me wonder, though. We never buy the big bottles of water they put in our state room thus we never open them. How many of those bottles were “hacked” and we never knew. Now we all have something else to be wary of.🤫🤫🤫🤫. Great report, Doug.

Most bottles are sealed and it's fairly easy to tell if they've been opened, but you're right - better to not take the chance that some dirt bag like her tampered with it.

You don't need that kind of element on a cruise. Maybe a fine and some probation (community service) would teach these oh so ignorant people this kind of behavior is not acceptable.
