On average I sell about 20-30 items a week so this was not normal for me. I do tend to put most of my inventory out to auction at the end of every month so occasionally I have 20-30 to print in one day. But this was a LOT for me to do and it took hours.

Most of my ribbons and package toppers come from one of three places. 1. subscribers, 2. Amazon and 3. Thrift shops. I'm a sucker for a good tissue paper and buy those on Amazon (search Jillson Roberts close out tissue paper but I warn you that it is still pricey). I love using a business card with just a quote on the front and my info on the back as it allows the buyer to display it somewhere in their home or keep the saying in their wallet. Plus, for the money, those are probably the cheapest package toppers I have :) Thanks!

I ship M-F but I am at the point now where I'm not selling very much on Ebay. So it turns out to be about 2x-3x a week when I have a sale.

1st class, priority, weight, rate, size..... Ugg!

Mostly I ship out clothing under 2lbs. It is hard to lose a lot of money when shipping lightweight items. It gets a bit harder when you have very heavy items. As a rule, first class mail is anything under 16oz and costs $5.50 or less when printing with Ebay. If something is 16oz or over, it has to go priority mail. I love & use a lot of padded priority envelopes which you can order for free from the USPS website. If you can fit something in one of those, it cost just $7.33 through Ebay. Do you plan on using Ebay to print your labels?

I get two sizes for clothing, the 10x13 and the 12x15. Under 16oz can be shipped first class mail so I always use a poly mailer. If something is under 16oz, I absolutely wouldn't be using priority mail. First class mail is cheaper than priority mail. I hope that helps :)

What size poly mailers do you use? I feel like most people use 12x15. I ordered 10x13 which look rather small.

No problem! Yes, so I was confused because they didn't have my printer the 450 Turbo to click on . So I clicked 400 Turbo 2.4X7.5 and then clicked 99019 Large Lever Arch for the label. I totally guessed on the 99019 because there was like 50 to choose from, and it worked! I share this so maybe it will help someone reading your comments. Have a great st patty's Day!

I have the Dymo 450 Turbo. I just checked it on Amazon and for some reason it is currently $87. But I went back in my orders and I usually pay $45-$55. I use them for giveaways so I ordered 3 last year. It works great with ebay/paypal. I use the 99019 labels which can be purchased on ebay. I just saw 6 rolls of 150 labels each for about $21 shipped. The Dymo label makers use thermal printing and so you never have to buy ink. They work great! If you also sell on Amazon, I've heard the Dymo XL works great for that and you can also use the Dymo XL for ebay/paypal.

I don't have any licenses. I don't keep spreadsheets. I take a day or two to sit down and do put my taxes together for my accountant and hand them over to her. She takes over from there. Ebay keeps track of sales, fees, and shipping. I keep all my receipts in a box/bag and go from there :)

It differs every week. Each gets wrapped in tissue paper and a plastic zippered bag and I have a variety of hair ties I make, thank you cards, vintage playing cards, initial charms from Hobby Lobby (purchased at 5-7 cents on clearance), ribbons, face masks...the list goes on and on. I think my thought was that I needed to sell items to make a shipping video. And so I lowered my prices to sell more items. Haha. I'm now up to 36 shipping videos and I am realizing that isn't the case :)

When I lived in PA, my post office was wonderful and would regularly give me the free tape but our FL post office won't give it out. I've tried both my local post office and my PO Box post office and neither provides tape unfortunately.

(Dog poly mailers, book poly mailers, marble poly mailers...you get the idea.)

It is ceramic! We purchased it from the Home Depot this past summer and it was under $1 a square foot. We also love it :)

Sure, though I'm not sure I'm going to be able to explain it. Anything in the 1-2 pound rate, I check Regional A and it is sometimes cheaper and sometimes not. Anything 2-3 pounds is almost always cheaper. It isn't always a flat rate meaning that it won't be like $10 for anywhere in the US. It does go by where it is being shipped but I haven't seen any standard "rules" for Regional A that make sense for my brain. I just check it regularly and sometimes it is cheaper and sometimes not.

FYI if you call in your order via the number they PO website has on it (order fulfillment) you can place an order for PFRE's with them on the phone and order as many as you like. I ordered 200 with the lady last month. And then orders two more separate orders of 100 each on line lol. Got sick of running out. Now I have 5 boxes. haha...

I always use 12x12x3 unless it is an oversized bag. I almost never switch it from 12x12x3 and that works for almost everything I ship. I hope your PFREs get to you quickly. I had to order a second box right before Christmas because my first box went missing. I was without them for days. I know that struggle!

Oh yeah, I have 4 huge boxes of them lol. My mailman finally asked me what I do. Thanks for the info on the 12x12x3 size for the input for shipping.

Good question! The answer is sheer laziness and not having the knowledge of FedEx. I know I have shipped UPS before but it requires me taking the packages to the UPS store. It is only a few miles away but my husband and I share a car and I cannot always get there right away. I will absolutely check Fed Ex next time - great suggestion!

I don't usually start auctions at 99 cents. This was my first "ship with me" video and I wanted to have enough items to create a video. So, knowing that I needed more sold items, I started them low. I still do that when I want/need to make shipping videos but I haven't listed any for 99 cents since that first video.

I go through periods of accepting returns and not accepting them. Right now I accept them. LOL.

I have heard from two post offices to round up. But I know we all do things differently :)

I have asked two of my post offices and they said to always round up. Just being in transit can add a few tenths of an ounce (moisture & air) and so it is best to round up.

I charge a flat rate usually and that is about $4-$5.50 for first class mail and $7.50-$9 for priority mail. Shipping rates just increased and so I have adjusted those slightly. :)

That is a very good question! I think the honest answer is I'm lazy. It seems easier to just throw a number in there and charge everyone the same. I have been upping that number since the postal increase.

I don't measure and weigh my packages when I'm listing them which causes me to lose money occasionally. I would highly recommend making sure you have the right box when listing and weighing everything if you are worried about losing money. I think I just filmed my 36th Ship with Me and overall I make money with shipping. :)

Good point! I film my thrift hauls on this same channel. "Ship with me" videos are more about the shipping process than my profit. I post my weekly sales with information on Instagram under FreshBloominClothing :)

If you pick calculated shipping ebay calaculates the shipping based on location. The auto generated shipping cost you can change if you choose to. You can charge whatever you want.

It is a service Ebay offers. There are three ways to determine shipping with Ebay. 1. Free shipping: You can offer your customers free shipping and "eat" the costs or build the costs into your sale price. 2. Flat shipping: This is when you tell the customer exactly what the shipping is. So, if it is a lightweight package, I might say $4 or $4.50 and a heavier item might get $7 or $7.50. Some sellers give the same flat rate on every item. 3. Calculated shipping: This is where you put in how much your package weighs and Ebay uses the USPS (or UPS if you select that service) to determine the shipping. So, a 3lb package going one state over will be a lower rate than the same package going across the country. I hope that helps :)

@@funwithus5547 It isn't "easy" money for most though. I've taught probably a few dozen people and only 1 has stuck with it over the course of time. That 1 is my mother and she has a KZfaq account under LavenderClothesLine. She posts regularly and shows what she sells. I'd highly recommend her if you are looking for inspiration.
