I grew up 1 town over and my Mom loved the flea market and auction. I've got all kinds of stuff, now qualified antiques (100+ yrs). She stopped going in the 1980's because dealers had discovered it and the prices went way up. My desk chair, walnut, nicely carved, cost 50¢. She loved crocks, so I've got a bunch. She wouldn't have paid more than a dollar each. Stuff like that. I've been a few times, but too much new stuff. Although, I was able to get my sister a tee with her dog's unusual breed on it..

That would have been great. I know prices keep going up although now and then I’ll hit one of those 50 cents 1 dollar sale. Thanks for watching.

I live about twenty minutes from Shipshawana and love going there. The town itself is amazing. All the little shops and The Blue Gate Restaurant. Love the flea market but they are getting to much new stuff. I like the old stuff or things people have made or repurposed.

Mike at 66 Unique Antiques just went to an auction in Hastings Michigan, and came away discouraged. There were so many people in attendance (also 2 rings) that prices were skyrocketing (must be folks winter-starved!). He came away with very little for their shop.

I actually just saw that episode. People get crazy in the winter and pay too much for things. A lot of times my best months are January and February because of that. This is why I typically buy things in the summer.

Is there any weekend and/or month that is better than others to go?
@junkingwithlou2 ай бұрын
I don’t think so. I’ve gone different months and haven’t known a difference. If it is very hot out it has been a challenge to complete the entire market.
