On Thursday September 12th at 14:30hrs, Norden was Christened and launched at SAS Shipyard in Foxhol and being towed to Delfzijl on November 12, 2019!

Het was een grapje kalm aan... omdat dat schip daarvoor zo slingerde. Deed me denken aan tourettes. Dat ding ging nog erger dan de meidenkano op schoolkamp.

Incredible. Only in the Netherlands can a HUGE vessel be shoehorned through such a narrow space without scratching the paint. Skill, real skill.

Yes. I just stopped ( That's my green car on the side of the road.). I asked the captain He said " Green Peace is protesting that the paint on the hull is not dry & all the fish are sticking to it." I personally find that hard to believe. There ain't no fish in that water !!!!

O.K. , strong Wind from Portside, no Cargo, much freeboard, bow thruster over the Waterline and the tuc is maybe a little bit to smal for this Wind :-)

It looks the Norden just left dockyard. Why done those action in strong wind from the beam?! No weather forecast available? No risk no fun or just bad seamanship?

great bit of videoing , it all looked very confusing , especially at the begining with that other barge going across that ships bow , it must have been very annoying , & i don't know quite what was going on with that bridge , it had a mind of it's own . glad they finally got through . 🚢

It doesn't have a mind on its own. All these ships are communicating through a special radio channel. Called (marifoon) in Dutch shipping terms. So all the movements and openings of the bridge are all well organised. And all the 3 tugs are communicating on a different channel just to make the job much easier.

The beginning of this is just like one of those days behind the wheel, when you cocked up with a three-point turn on a country road, and there's a lorry coming at you over 50 mph :D Wonder, what engine the lead tug has? That takeoff at 12:00 sounded very English Electric ;) Nice footage, btw.

Hallo Cornelius, gisteren reageerde ik op een reactie en weet niet meer zeker of die van u/jou kwam. Iemand reageerde op de video en dat was 1 die als beledigend kon worden opgevat. Ik zag die(verwijderde) reactie pas later en dacht dat jou reactie gericht was naar mij of dit kanaal. Ik reageerde daarop dat we misschien reacties niet al te serieus moeten nemen. Nu zie ik in dat je gelijk had en wilde het middels dit bericht even corrigeren/ rechtzetten. Ikzelf besef heel goed wat er allemaal bij komt kijken. Mijn grootvader bijvoorbeeld was kapitein op een kustvaarder(grote vaart) en zijn zoon(mijn vader) kreeg eens een vriendinnetje. Zijn ouders vonden mijn vader te min voor haar omdat zijn familie een beeld had van mensen in de scheepvaart die duidelijk niet klopte. Mijn grootvader sprak meerdere talen en hield van zijn vak. Soms zijn vooroordelen gebaseerd op onwetendheid en dat is 1 van de redenen dat ik dit kanaal ben begonnen..

Too bad he couldn't listen in on the ships communication. A good programmable multi band radio might be a good investment so he could listen in on the ships chatter.

It appears that the person operating the bridge has one of those difficult personalities or they have an axe to grind, or maybe both.

The wind pushed her too close to the bank and she grounded. Second tug pulled stern off mud. In that wind stern tug should of been pushing, front tug steering. To much for front tug to steer and pull.

Pretty dumb bridge operator to not allow the tug and tow through. Far less maneuverable than the vehicle traffic.

Channels owners have a problem explaining things it's their video let them figure it out. if they can't speak English we have the youtube translator captions I think they are just lazy...
