The plaintiffs say their dog was attacked by the defendants’ dog. They claim the defendants’ dog knocked over one of the plaintiffs and also caused the plaintiffs’ dog to get stitches and spend three days in the hospital. They’re suing for the balance of a vet bill. The defendants say they paid for most of the bill, but their neighbor let the dog out, so the neighbor should pay the balance.

I can’t believe they are blaming the dog getting out on the neighbor bringing cookies over. Ma’am, your dog is violent and aggressive. If a dog just runs out and attacks another dog just because someone opens the door then you have a serious problem on your hands. Don’t blame the neighbor who opened the door. It’s your dog, your job to control it

Especially dog owners. Just today I had my Pitbull outside behind my apartment building another owner of two pitbulls was attempting to come into the same area. I had to yell at him what are you doing. Don’t you see my dog. When I see dogs approaching the area while I’m walking I quickly walk mine in the other direction with strict commands to go forward home. I know others walk their dogs so I don’t feel privileged to stay there. But some others just I guess want to test the dogs.

My dog got out the front door when my daughter-in-law was picking up my grandbaby and that was completely our fault that he got out, but when he was in the street I was in the middle of the street waving people down and everyone coming one direction stopped and this lady I clearly see on her cell phone didn't stop. I had to jump back on the sidewalk because she didn't see me. She ended up hitting my dog. My dog came screaming around from the front of her SUV into our yard and she looked at me and she drove away. I'm in no way saying it was her fault that my dog got out but to be so insensitive as to just drive off with an animal that has a broken leg and pelvis and bleeding out everywhere was just really gross to me.

Absolutely no control over the dog. I had an Irish Wolfhound who disliked most dogs. Once, at a store, I attached his lead to the fence & quickly ran in. While paying, I saw him pull off the fence & run at a couple and their dog. I opened the door, yelled at him to drop, finished paying & left. The couple thought he was well trained since he dropped and stayed. I thought; if he were well trained, he wouldn't pull off the fence. But at least, he listened to me.

My female Great Dane also hated pretty much every dog whenever she was on a leash, off leash she was super sweet. But unfortunately, we had to keep her pretty sheltered due to her leash aggression. We tried hiring a professional trainer but she gave him no respect and he couldn’t make a break through with her. she was a pet store puppy mill dog and I feel it had something to do with poor breeding. Anyway, I knew she was the way she was, so we took proper precautions to make sure she would never be in a situation to hurt anyone or any dog. It wouldn’t take much for her to kill another dog.

If you have a dog who does not plan as y well with others you HAVE to be aware and vigilant if you actually care. My dog is 12 and NEVER bitten a human or animal and I don't want that to change. I'm not saying my dog would bite but shes a dog and I can't predict her behavior in all situations, but I do know she shows signs of unease and maybe AGRESSION around others so I know its possible so I do EVERYTHING in my power to prevent a situation b4 it ever could come close to being a situation. Honestly, the defendants SAW their dog run out at the neighbor's dog. They must have heard the plaintiff screaming for help for her dog. They didn't think, just as a gesture of common courtesy that MAYBE they should go back out, once they had their dog under control and say "I'm SO SORRY our dog ran at you. Are you and your dog alright? Do you need help?" I mean, if the lady was SCREAMING FOR HELP and you had to pull your dog off of her dog because she was biting his neck, you would THINK maybe SOMETHING was amiss, right? I'm sure Bella usually is a very sweet dog. She's a beautiful animal. But she DID bite their dog and YOU are responsible for that vet bill. And you should be thanking your lucky stars that their dog didn't DIE. This is YOUR FAULT. Not your neighbor bringing you cookies. Maybe you should tell your neighbors that your dog is an escape artist and to WAIT at the door for you to let them in so this doesn't happen again.

My husband had to hold our dog entire time little 1 is trying to bite for fear of my dog hurting little dog. If my dog would have hurt the unleashed little dog it would not have been our fault but I would still feel HORRIBLE. I believe if you have a dog, no matter the size, that can be aggressive dog should ALWAYS be leashed and attended to at all times. If little dog would have been hurt by my big dog, even though not her fault, my dog would probably be known as dog who hurt ot killed a little dog and that would be unfair

As soon as the judge heard it was a pitbull you could hear the disgust in her voice. Pitbulls are the worst because the are unpredictable. They can be the sweetest dogs around family but can snap without notice and when they attack their intent is to kill. I read an article not long ago about a woman who jogged with her pitballs daily until one day while jogging her own dogs attacked and mauled her death. A witness stated that there was no apparent reason. The dogs stopped and turned and attacked her. The attack apparently was quick but deadly.

@bravo2966

Pitbulls are different. One, they only ever see one person as an authority to be obeyed, ever. So if you take one in later in its life it is highly unlikely to listen to you shouting to get it off the toddler/dog it is currently attacking. Two, once they attack ain't no stopping them. Three, their jaws are so powerful that your best chance of getting them off the child/dog they're attacking is to literally kill them. Your comment is stupidly naive.
@ThePracticalDog
@ThePracticalDog 2 жыл бұрын
@@bravo2966 as is yours. Responsible pit owners, those knowledgeable about the breed, own and carry "break sticks" in the event something goes south with their otherwise "sweet dog" and it gets it's teeth locked onto something. You do not need to kill a pit to get it off. And I don't even want to guess where you got the idea that a pit will only every, in its whole life, "obey" one person - that's the dumbest thing I've ever read regarding this breed and I thought I had read it all! The last one I got was a 7 year old (based on its micro chip) street dog, had been living on its own for a few months when I picked it up while working as an ACO - that dog spent the rest of its life with me and is in the top 10 of best dogs I've ever had. Intact male which I never neutered, and had no issues with his sociability nor his "obeying" commands when given. All that said, it is not a "breed" (they're technically mutts of a particular type) that I recommend people get unless they've got YEARS of working with an experienced dog person - their breeding went to shit when they were banned, and as the saying goes - "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" - they only people who kept them were people who had nefarious intents, they bred poor (aggressive) temperaments and destroyed what was once a decent dog.
@bravo2966
@bravo2966 2 жыл бұрын
@@ThePracticalDog Yeh most people don't carry break sticks with them, so if they see one attacking a child they don't have the time go online, order a break stick and wait for it to be delivered. They'd have to kill the dog to save the child. Whatever the history and whys and wherefores about why the breed is why it is, is all irrelevant, they are what they are and knowing the history of it doesn't change a damn thing. Obeying commands like sit and so on aren't the issue, they will only obey one owner when it comes down to the dog thinking it's in ultimate fighting mode, if you think your 7 year old dog would break from attacking a child because it listens to you when you tell it to sit, you are completely deluded. It will not, and if you ever get to that situation you will definitely not find it the 'dumbest' thing you ever heard. You're dangerous because you think you know it all, and you know literally nothing.

That fact that you have to go "above and beyond" because of the breed of dog that you have says it all. Let's be honest: that dog could snap at any time and cause major damage. It doesn't matter if your dog hasn't attacked anything or anyone, fact of the matter is there's a first time for everything. Not to mention, you're not in your dog's mind. For the plaintiffs to have to deal with this tragedy is so sad, along with the women to have to stand and witness the gruesome attack of her beloved pet and cant do anything on her part to help aid her dog during this crazy attack. I used to think PitBulls were really dangerous until my mom got one and he’s the biggest baby ever. One day I had took my dog outside off lease (I know I shouldn’t have) and this little tiny dog approached him. I don’t know what kind of dog it was, but next thing I know. The little dog nipped at my dog and my dog took off running. I mean like it’s funny now, but then it wasn’t. My dog is running towards me and the little dog is behind him. My dogs runs in the door and I slammed the door before the little dog could come in. But my big Pit bull was running away from this little tiny dog. It’s not about them being Pit bulls. It’s about how you raise and train them.

Seeing how many times a pit-bull or pit-bull mix attacks a person or another dog, you'd think that this breed of dog would be banned from ownership. I just looked it up and 60% of dog fatalities last year were from dogs with pit-bull blood in them. Like this judge said, you never hear of a poodle running across the road to attack another dog.
