I grew up on R&B and Motown and a lot of other great 60’s and 70’s music. We watched and learned all the newest dances on Soul Train and Band Stand. Color doesn’t matter to me & I don’t want to insult anyone but I’m white. I said that to tell about my middle sister. She could watch Soul Train or BS and pick up the dance first time. She’d go to school and some of our black friends would get her in the bathroom to show them what she learned over the weekend. Our friends used to joke that we had some of the dark stuff in us. Well I found out with a DNA test that we really do. Back to 4x maternal great grandparent.

Cedrick Mcwhorter Ain't that the truth honey! I'm 71 years young and my grandmother was a plus sized woman. She was the church psalmist and she could be heard over the whole church without a microphone! Shirley killed this one honey, her voice was so clear clear like the young Aretha Franklin and had that volume like Patti, Aretha, and Chaka. She's right up there with the greats, BET really needs to honor her and let her get up there and sing and show these young singers how to SANG!!! There's a difference!!!
