Death cannot hold me

Kratos is someone who can't stay dead. He beats death, literally, he killed The God of fucking death, The sister's of fate, and Hades himself. Kratos died like 2 times and somehow comes back willy nilly. (Idk about him "dying" at the end of gow 3)

@Jhon D Zeus imprisoned Cronos(his fater),after Kratos opened Pandora's box fear overwhelmed Zeus that his son (Kratos) would betray him as he did his father,so he killed him but then Kratos came back and did exactly what Zeus was trying to prevent.Seeing the same thing with Baldur and Freya he kills Baldur and stopped the cycle from repeating the same thing Zeus and Kratos did,as Gods can't come back now in Norse mythology because of the coming Ragnarok and all the things Odin is doing to prevent it Baldur can't pull off what Kratos did.So whether or not Thor and Asgard come,which they will,that's not what Kratos was referring to.

You literally can't beat him. Even if you cheat to get all of the abilities, infinite resources, infinite combo + Rage of the Titans (3x damage) he won't fail. If you trigger a cheat to instantly kill everything currently loaded, Zeus disappears and the game immediately softlocks.

@Anthony Matthew If they do that, they will be saved from their destruction by Kratos. And no, not GoW 3 and Ascension, but GoW Ghost of Sparta, 2 and 3. Ascension was before Kratos became the God of War, replacing Ares, which was why Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and Ares were still alive. Which means, if they granted Kratos' wish, GoW Ghost of Sparta, 2, and 3 would never have existed.

I've watched the full series, but never actually played a game until 4. Coming back to watch this and other scenes really does help you appreciate Kratos as a character more in the newest installment

Yes. Zeus did the right thing, but he wasn't the right guy to do this. The gods were selfish and did not care about mortals, but they were essentials. Kratos from GOW2 to GOW3 does not care about no one. He preferes to fight, murder and destroy everything just to acomplish his own goals. We like him cause he's a badass, his game is awesome and he is the protagonist. But... we can't be blind!

I think that Game protagonists have an easier time being flawed than characters from movies and books,iunno,these sort of characters on said other medias just feel a little...odd where they need a part where it's make obvious the implication that they weren't written as good people not even compared to the rest of the people on the story...hell sometimes they will just go right and say it because the chances of people not liking the character when they're not purposely made as an asshole is big,it's still pretty easy not to like said characters even if they're purposely like that and justified... But when it comes to game characters,in particular Kratos,because it's a game,I just can't help but feel sympathetic for him despite all the shit he does,gaming immersion makes this kind of characters shine really well; Like,despite Zeus not really doing much other than defending all that he has created,you just feel like he's a bastard for killing who was essentially the number one threat to everything,and I just find that fascinating.It's like you can actually put yourself into the shoes of the main character in said situations because you think you're the one who mostly controls his actions,even on a linear story.
