Pretty much. My parents, uncles, and little sister are all pretty well-versed in games. As a kid, It was frustrating to have the adults slow down their combos just to give you a chance. Nowadays, it's pretty much a free-for-all in any game we play, and you gotta git gud.

@@yuuki3 Personally i think It not because people don't want to improve but going from B level casual player to A level good player will took practice, dedication and time which honestly many people didn't have luxury for, for example being able to race in racing game is easy but learning about corner entry and exit trajectory, proper throttle and brake control, car setting, steering input, wet weather, elevation, etc will take a lot of time not to mention track or map familiarity also crucial for someone being just ok or good this ultimately lead people to just satisfied just being ok and not pushing the barrier to become good player

Perks of being the elder brother is you *HAVE* to be on top of your family sibling hierarchy it's like pride and a must! I'm not sure if it makes sense to other people but to older brother out there (since I am older brother as well) will understand what I mean, its like we need to always be on top after our parents kind of thing because we are like the leader after our parents

My older brother would kick me into a corner in Street Fighter and not let up. He would only play legit with his friends, so I had to learn how to get the jump on him fast, because he would literally just kick me to death 😩😆

any sibling rivalry rooted in fighting games is basically a shounen anime. growing up with a younger brother that’s 3 years my junior, i had to uphold that same pride all throughout my gaming life and best him in any game that we both played. Smash, Halo 3, Tekken, you name it. everything was going well for me until we got DBFZ. at first i was still beating him in most matches... and then he had his 3 week long training arc in the summer. where i only occasionally practiced maximum damage combos, he was learning fundamentals, wake-up attacks, footsies, anti-airs, and block punishes... hell, he even learned the frame data on the characters i played. so yeah that was the story of how i lost my pride (and 5 sets in a row) to my younger brother. it’s weird to think that we’re now equals when it comes to gaming, but seeing that amount of drive in anyone is enough to make even the proudest older siblings shed a manly tear. in the process, he even discovered a love for fighting games and the natural desire to overcome his own weaknesses made him way better than i’d ever expected him to be.

For me it was racing games, as the younger sibling, I'd watch them play or try to clar games after they did so, but then... I started going more hardcore, putting the gears on manual on NFS MW and so on, eventually reaching Colling McRae where I was an absolute madman (and basically cleared 80% of the game by myself) and then...Dirt Rally: Driving an Audi Quattro S1 at full throtle through the Netherlands stage with my 10 year old steering wheel.

I also imagined Botan driving a course backwards. Like, not turning around and going forward the wrong way, but looking back while moving down the right way. Is that what you meant there, though? XD
