Lord Shiva is also credited with creating the strongest Bow in the ancient world - Pinaka ! More than 6 feet big, made of mysterious metals. Most strong warriors could not even lift it - let alone fire an arrow from it.

Simply Woooww.....There are such codified stories in our scriptures, explaining the interplanetary occurrences. For example that split second when Shiva fires the Narayan Sastra, that explains the importance of Muhurta. All these stories are symbolic descriptions of the intergalactic happenings. Like the Sun and moon being 2 wheels and Meru being the bow - explains the geospatial alignment during that splitsecond when the attack was launched. Tremendous amount of research and internal consciousness is necessary to decode the essence of these Puranic and Vedic episodes. A Priceless treasure trove of Sanatan Dharma for entire mankind.

05:51 - Just an FYI, Lord Shiva don't shoot Narayanastra. Lord Shiva shooted Pashupatastra (A weapon capable of destroying any creation). 06:00 - One more correction, Lord Shiva didn't took Mount Meru as his bow. He had his own Bow - Pinaki (Which was presented to him by Vishwakarma which was made up of skeletal bones of Dadhichi Muni) (Vishwakarma ji also presented a similar bow - Sarang to Lord Vishnu as well).

He is wrong. Shiva used the weapon PASHUPATASTRA to destroy the 3 cities in one go. Narayanastra wasn't used. He defeated Tripurasur hence he was named TRIPURANTAKA, and it's clearly stated that TRIPURANTAKA used PASHUPATASTRA as the major weapon.

Chandrashekar Ashtakam says that Lord Narayan was used as the arrow to destroy the cities. What I am not sure if Narayan as an arrow is same as Narayastra or not.

The TripuraSur story resembles with the issue of 3 and N body problems in astrophysics. Basically 3 or N-body interactions are still beyond control of human understanding. And it gets very unpredictable when masses are similar.

@@brainstorm5918 For 2 body system like binary stars, path of the motion of both stars is predictable. The moment a 3rd star of similar mass is introduced, currently AFAIK there isn't an equation available to define the motion of all 3. It is only achieved by simulations. So 3 body system is usually unstable.

The devas, make up the chariot and weapons but exactly when 3 cities align Siva decide not to release the arrow because Lord Indra thinks all of Devas had to come together to make Siva destroy Tripurantaka. Immediately all devas starts to panic and Bhrama scolds Indra to apologize Siva. Meanwhile very interesting happens. Even before Siva releases the arrow the Siva smile starts making 3 cities go up in flames. After Indra apologizes Siva, Siva releases the arrow only for the namesake, just to make boon meet the requirements.

Woah woah woah.... It was the Pashupat astra that Lord Shiva shot at Tripura using the Pinaka bow.... It's the same Astra Arjuna did penance to attain.. Narayan Astra was the Astra that Ashwatthama used when Drona was killed, the Pandava army was told by Krishna to surrender to the Astra to calm it down.... Bhima refused and was almost killed by the Astra but was saved by Krishna and Arjuna in Nick of time

Well deva is higher concious being more than human and we are no different from them just want spiritual enhancement same with asura they are also powerful but in bad karma aspects (troubling others think about only self) and devta is a Post like we work as a employee and then went to senior positions same happened with our soul. So either we became deva by doing good karma or became asura by doing bad karma so it's upto individuals who we want to be (sometimes deva do bad things and some ausura do good so according to karma we consider what we are)

At the exact time, Lord Shiva invoked the most destructive weapon controlled by Him, the Pashupatastra. The Destroyer's capable arms fired a single arrow into the three forts at the exact instant they merged into one, thus burning to ashes the three forts of the asuras. Shiva thus earned Himself the epithet Tripurantaka - the one who ended Tripura. He also earned the epithet Tripurari.

saying that all these mythical characters were beings from other planets is lazy thinking. Dr. Aggarwal is very intelligent. Awesome presentation, it is sad that most Indians are not taught at this level of intellect, the celebrations would be at a much higher level. All the teachers of ALL the faiths are Asian. China is the Orient. Asia is Egypt, Turks, Arabs, Israel, Persia, India and it is India that is related to all. All the faiths of Asia have outside interference e.g. Vedas flying machines before we even knew how to fly? Torah(later Bible) a entity talking from a cloud? Mecca a rock from the sky? we should have been seekers. It is interesting because in the Torah(later Bible) revelations has descriptions that are as mystic as this.

Its not the Narayanastra but Pashupatastra. Narayanastra is lord Vishnu's weapon. Pashupatastra is the most powerful weapon from our epics. It has no counter. Narayanastra is a different typ of weapon. It increases its intensity with resistance and releases arrows, darts and other weapons from itself. There is no weapon to counter the Narayanastra as well but you can surrender and pacify it. However, Pashupatastra can't be pacified. Once released, target is annihilated. Also, you couldn't get Pashupatastra through any tapasya. Lord Shiva has to personally hand over it. The only mortal warrior ever to possess the Pashupatastra was Arjun. He could've ended Mahabharata war in one second in the first day of the war itself but he never used the Pashupatastra

Tripura or Three floating cities are 3 states of mind. Jagruthi (waking), Swapna (dreaming) and Sushupthi (deep sleep). Lord Shiva has destroyed all 3 states of mind and remained in the 4 state which is pure consciousness. Otherwise, 3 cities are Ahamkar, Karma and Maya. 3 lines of vibhuthi on fore head pierced with the straight line in center (3rd eye).

The way to pronounce is “Lok” , in english for some reason they add ‘a’ at the end of many words but it’s not pronounced as “lokas”

In Samskrtam (Sanskrit) it's Loka, not Lok. Lok is Hindi, due to the schwa deletion. In Samskrtam लोक - Loka लोक् - Lok In Hindi लोक - Lok I think most people prefer Sanskrit over Hindi in these matters.

That's not true. Sensing the ego in Brahma and Vishnu that Shiva could not defeat Tripuran without their help, Shiva did not use any of the Astras to destroy Tripuran. He left all weapons in the chariot, just got down with nothing, moved to a distance and laughed, and that was more than enough to turn Tripuran into ashes.
