Can I just say THANK YOU for going slow, filming at such a great pace! So many videos of people in amazing model/toy locations and they move so fast it blurs or I cannot really get a good look at what is what. I feel like I'm checking out all the booths, in no hurry. Thank you!

This is only one section of the show, this part of the week is essentially the "trade show", on Friday they will allow school groups to attend. Finally on Saturday and Sunday is the "big event" where the general public is allowed in, concerts etc happen. In addition, the other half of the convention hall opens on the weekend showing modeling groups all over Japan and the world displaying their group works, in addition to the model flea market this weekend. Tamiya is also having their open house this weekend, you can walk to Tamiya HQ from the convention center in about 15-20 minutes.

In addition, across the street from Shizuoka Station is a place called "HOBBY SQUARE" it is a mini museum with plastic models that showcases Shizuoka City's history to the hobby genre, well worth a visit since it's across the street from the main train station.

The open days were a lot more crowded than that. Vey long queue and it rained but totally worth it! That Akagi bridge and flight deck is just begging for a place in my stash! The model show in the next pavilion was well worth the wait. Some VERY talented people showing off breathtaking models.

Great content Andy!! Thank you for posting. Great to see a new 1/12 Formula 1 car kit (1987 Lotus 99T). The box art on that Lotus 99T is just a complete rip off of the Tamiya 1/12 box art. Surely Ramiya would take issue with this? Can’t blame the other companies though given Tamiya haven’t released a new 1/12 F1 kit in 31 years!! Crazy.
