He also immediately corrected that. He demonstrates an association of a multitudes of names connected with various organizations, groups, unions, governments, and press agencies that is impressive, and he apologized for the mistake. It's just like "peacefully and patriotically," two words out of a 45-minute inflammatory call for violent interference of a government process, the focus is incongruent with the context. Your "report" is bunk.

Yet, not much ABOUT Trump’s tangential speaking. “It is less severe than logorrhea and may be associated with the middle stage in dementia. It is, however, more severe than circumstantial speech, in which the speaker wanders but eventually returns to the topic. Some adults with right hemisphere brain damage may exhibit behavior that includes tangential speech.”

When I saw the headline for this episode, I knew what to expect.... for a couple of minutes; but I also saw: 1.17.19, so I thought, okay, I can wade through those couple of minutes of standard-pundit crap and get to the meat and veg. But no, it's going on for too long. Have to bale at this point. Hoping normal service resumes next week.

@@Paulus8765 Yes, I was having a seniors' moment there; started having those at about age 5. I will probably listen to this b4 Monday;s comes out - usually about Wednesday morning; just need to move the cursor forward another minute or so to skip over the irrelevant bits. I'd basically just already had enough of the feeding frenzy by all the self-important, self-righteous, pseudo-progressive US online media - didn't want to get another spray of that here as well. Essentially, throwing in a(n especially pointedly) wrong name or a snooperism is nothing new for Biden, Trump or me. Many years ago I knew a Hungarian-born fellow student, who was mortally embarrassed after he had been at a Magyarophone social function, where he had, a number of times, in a political discussion, thought he had used the word "fascisto" - fascist - only to next day realise he been swapping the "sc" and the "s," which apparently creates a very rude word in Hungarian. BTW, I had never before read the comments below these videos, but I recall that the trolls were mentioned from time to time. It's true, the first twenty or so are straight out of Central, Sankt-Piterburg casting. I wonder who pays them now that Prigozhin is pushing up romashki.

@@Paulus8765 I did in the end listen through the whole thing... almost; as I say, moving the cursor forward a bit. Despite that expedient, I did glean enough of that section to see that Francis - normally the best of this bunch, never slipping into defeatism or making making sotto voce hints at "land for peace" compromises - made the worst contribution, right down there with the zombie-attack from all of CNN and most of MSN|BC. This "teleprompter" crap: Would it be fifty years? seventy? Almost all public speakers have used those most of the time; and Biden has done extended interviews, giving complex answers, since the debate. Noticed by... not the zombies, nor this mob. Really - possible exception of Harris, provided she cannot be seen to have blood on her hands: she would have a fighting chance if going in as sitting president - but anyone else taking over, from Newsom to bitchin' Gretchen, will earn the Democrats an exemplary and deserved flogging of historical proportions. If that happens, or if Biden stays and loses, I don't agree that it's the end of the line for Ukraine. They can drop anchor, provided they have means to counter the glide bombs and missiles. Russia will crack within a few years. Just watch what is happening to the hydrocarbon markets in China and Europe, i..e. look at the trends, the underlying dynamics. Got a bit off the track there. It's never been up to one man, that's the how democracy works in America, representatives need to vote on issues, people work together in government for a decent, fair outcome. America is more than just a single person. Now if Trump convinces the majority of law makers to entrust all power in him, and people agree that's a good idea and vote for him, that safety net of hundreds of people working together to make decisions goes away, and then yeah, history tells us that would be ruinous. I haven't heard most of today's yet, but I generally don't have any problem with the accents here. They are regional, yes, but all pretty standard English. I can understand annoyance at bad sound qual. When I'm watching/listening to foreign lang. media I sometimes get off piste with distracting noise. But where I come from, we are used to consuming English lang. media from all over, even USA.

It's fine to comment on the reception of Biden's gaffs, but not to lambast the man himself or to overdramatise. After all, even young journalists on Telegraph podcasts misspeak, mispronounce and muddle up, every day. I listen to them daily confuse the belligerents, talk of the non-existent Zafforizhzhia, use incorrect grammar and inappropriate vocabulary. For what it's worth, I predict Biden will retire before the election.

This is overblown. Yes, Biden is old. He doesn't look good on television, but anyone can lose track during a 45-minute debate. He has long working hours. Biden has a lot more facts than the random incoherent talk from Trump. Anyone checked Trump speeches. Yes, he is not as quick on his feets as a younger person, but experience also matters. My young nephew talks constantly with full confidence but it is 99 % BS. Sure, Biden needs an extra big boy nap, but he gets the job done. He knows his stuff.
