Which iPad has the best battery life? Apple gives every single current iPad the same battery life rating - but - are they all really the same, and how does it actually work for real-life use?
So we’ve got all the current iPads here, starting with the iPad Mini 6, the iPad 9, the Air 4, and then the 11 and 12.9” M1 iPad Pro. I’ve got coffee, so I’m ready to spend the rest of the day running this test. The iPads are fully charged, and are running bluetooth and wifi. I also wrote what I think the results are going to be, and we’ll see if I was right at the end of the video.

I’ve literally just purchased the iPad 9 and I’ve noticed as well the battery life is insane and I’m so glad I didn’t go for the more “fancy” ones

I’m surprised at how long the iPad mini lasted since it has the smallest battery. I was expecting 4-5 hours from it. I wasn’t expecting it to last longer than the iPad Pro 12.9” considering it has the biggest battery

You do have to remember that the iPad Air 4 is from 2020 though - and besides, unless you got a new one for testing, you’ve weakened the battery. Still, this is a very nice iPad, one I have myself and really like, with plenty of battery left over.

IPad mini 6 lasted 5 days without out being charged but I wasn’t using it hard core

I actually thought the air 4 would last more than the mini 6 and ipad 9,seeing it go a 5h 17m is actually surprising.

Just remember the iPad air’s battery would have degraded after a year of use and I’m pretty sure he dint buy a new one for this video plus the iPad 9 and mini are significantly new

This video lasted so long that my phone couldn’t handle it anymore and died before I even got to see them iPads died

Coming from an Air 4 to a Pro 11 (2021) I agree 100% with the results. I was very underwhelmed with the battery on my Air4. One of the reasons I upgraded to the Pro. Very happy now. I throw a ton at my Pro and it keeps chugging along.

Love my “base model” iPads. Their battery life has always been staggering to me. Great info, and a pretty fair fight. Well done.

Thanks for running this test; looks like lots of work! I tend to push my iPads historically to run maybe a half the advertised battery life, so glad to see that the 11”, the one I have, ended up doing pretty well. I was not surprised about the 12.9” model draining quicker than the 11”, because it really is going through a lot when used to the max. I had that model for about 2 weeks, so again not too surprised by good to see it being compared. Again, thanks!
