Shocking Moment Man ‘Body Slams’ Killer Whale in New Zealand

This footage shows the shocking moment a man from Auckland leapt from a boat into the water in what appeared to be a deliberate attempt to “body slam” a male orca and a calf.
The 50-year-old could be heard yelling “I touched it” and asked the others on the boat whether they had filmed the incident.
The video, which was filmed in February, also showed the man swimming towards the animals in a second attempt to touch them.
The swimmer has been fined $600 by the New Zealand Department of Conservation.

Never in the whole history, an Orca has attacked a human in nature. Never. They have attacked sailing boats rudders at Spain in a strange behaviour, that's all.

@@quicksailsystembymarri8402 that may be true but people don’t usually try to drop and elbow on a pod of them from the top deck of a boat. Imagine doing that from the boat in Spain. I bet it would have had a different result

4 people are dead by orcas and many more attacks. and all of them were in captivity. none in free nature.

@@GratefulEd907 Just contesting what you originally said. They can definitely kill a man if they want to, but on the contrary they're strangely friendly towards humans. The orca probably didn't even register him as a threat. Take a look at what they do to seals if you want an example of what they _could_ do to us though.

@@InvadersDie My thought exactly. Even the calf would need a lot more than an average male human landing on it to do any damage, the whale, even the calf, could rip a limp off with easy. They probably found it curious and maybe even playful

Orcas can bodyslam sharks themselves at high speeds which I assume would impart more force on them than a human from a boat can. Orcas are also surprisingly tolerant of humans or atleast there hasn't been any reports of orca attacks in the wild on humans (boats maybe but not humans.). Despite me saying that, it should also be said that these creatures should be respected and bothering them especially when they have their child with them is incredibly idiotic and irresponsible.
