The Cosmograph has had the Daytona race name on it for awhile in commemoration of the Daytona race. To commemorate the Lemans race, perhaps the word Daytona should have been replaced by the word Lemans. Otherwise it’s kind of funny to have a commemoration of Daytona which commemorates Lemans 😂

I've owned a 1976 Daytona and used it as a daily wearer as a mechanic and of course its got scratches, dings and wear but still looks beautiful today

I was blessed with attending the 24 hrs in Le Mans, wearing the one and only racing piece : vintage Heuer. When you're walking on the starting grid there, you feel all the Le Mans history, also what happened in 1955 at that exact spot, the 80+ people who lost their lives... Sacred ground.

What makes this Time Piece so special is the centenary (91st running) celebration of the greatest race in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Also the similarities to the Paul Newman Daytona.

I’d be excited if they released a modern version of a manual wide Daytona. There’s something about the visceral feeling of manual wind watches.

Eric, I reached out to my top Rolex AD and owner. This model will be beyond limited and will never see the market at $100k. Unlike the platinum Daytona, this is most likely a 2023 run only in honor of the 100 year anniversary. My AD owner is getting 1 and has multiple Rolex boutiques, so it won’t hit secondary market much at all, and given less than a year production run, if it does, it will be $200k+. Cheers.

Great job. Yes, a huge shock - the Swiss can keep secrets! But you’re reading too much into the timing (I know you’re not 100% serious) - the Daytona and Patek Tokyo drops were aligned with events’ dates. Agree - just the right amount of red and the subdials are so retro cool. So no rumors on the Daytona 100 numbers? That will be the deciding factor - if they only make a few hundred then yes prices will go to Pluto. I hope you can snag one.

I watched the 24 hours of le mans on tv, amazing race ,with some drama, many crashes, difficult with some rain. it's seems so difficult to bring a car to the end even with the best drivers and mechanics and the best car. because anything can happen. the ferrari n° 51 won with drivers antonio giovinazzi ( ex formula one driver) , Alessandro pier Guidi , and James Calado. not only there were happy and proud to win, they got given each a rolex. I think from the hands of Tom kristensen . could not see inside but i doubt it was an op with coloured bubbles on the dial 🤣 if you can't get one from your ad ,maybe ask one of the drivers 😉 btw I'm not a fan of the daytona, think i prefer the older ones with rectangle markers but I'm a watch fan and i love that passion around it ,this nerdy red 100 km/h etc. and I certainly don't have the means .

These new subdials are cool as shit. No doubt about that. But the numerals on the minute subdial are STILL blocking the indices. Plus, the 1/5 second indices for the chrono seconds hand don’t work with the 1/8 second ticks of the movement 😂

Fyi - my 6036 is a daily wearer and feels very sturdy.

Best of the best! I love the sub-dials. They are perfect without those cheesy outer rings. Overall the best looking Daytona in my opinion. I'm just disappointed with the shape of the new case.

From what i hear, the secindary market is going to be at least 2x for this... and its a limited piece as well. So getting this daytona is goong to be extremely difficult at retail

I drove my 911 from England to France to Le Mans which was epic the race , but the Rolex Exhibition they built on the track which was the history of the Daytona and they had all the Daytonas in glass boxes which included tow Paul newmans one with a white dial and one with a black dial and to see them for real was amazing and anyone could go in and see the exhibition and I walked around proudly with my Rolex on

It is an absolute stunner, no debate about that. The one interesting thing that will make it a sleeper is that Rolex combined the cerachrome bezel with a white gold case and Oyster bracelet. To the non-hardcore Rolex fan geeks, at first glance it’s gonna present like a stainless steel Daytona. Only the watch-dorks who are savvy enough to look for the red ‘100’ or to notice the distinct dial, are going to realize that it’s a white gold watch. For people who like their white gold watches to fly under the radar, this will be a bonus.
