The only reason they gave cost of living payments in the first place is because they knew they would get it all back when failing more and more assessments and cutting benefits, wake up guys!! lol 😃😃

Where do you think the money came from in the first place? Where did the 'surplus' money come from for the DWP to dish out? 13 weeks lost disability payments for all new claimants... Took them 7 months to finalise his claim, my boy got less than half backpayment because he was brand new to U.C. Luckily we saved a little over lockdown, so we dodged a bullet, but in essence, had I not had a small saving stash we would be in debt for sure x

If you work and earn over £2600 over a 6 month period (roughly £108 a week), no matter your circumstances. You wont get ANY advanced budgeting loan, not a penny. So no workers will ever qualify, because you have to have at least part time hours to get UC. They must get a giggle knowing things like this have us by the short and curly's. I'm a single mum working part time. I had a heart attack and tried to apply for one to cover emergency costs and was refused. It seems most "advisors" at UC grudge helping certain people these days. Only interested in humiliation tactics or being condescending in passive aggressive journal messages 🤨

The only Cost of Living Payments are through the Household Support Fund via the local councils, I have applied and been granted one last year and one this year, it's either £100 for food, £100 for energy or you can divide the £100 for both... it depends on your council. Good luck with the Budgeting Advance Loan, they keep telling me no. As for the 24-month repayment of the loan, that starts in December 2024.

It depends what your local council is doing. Last year I got £50 extra off my council tax. This year I could be getting £200 in supermarket vouchers. Should know at the end of the month

It's odd some people got it last year without applying, I reckon it's the same as the other funds they have to spend before end of April each year 😂 they try save it as long as they can and boom spend it !

for lancashire you have to be in receipt of council tax support to get that HSF.

There was a complete five minute video telling all old age pensioners were getting 2100 pounds extra payments starting 12 June sorry not 22 and to make sure that your CC contact details were updated or payment would take longer

Highly recommend anyone with Scottish power on key card leave change supplier as increasing standard charge from 3.99 to 8.99 us lot other energy supplier,s don,t charge free top up also lot housing association offering free broadband which help get bill down

Who is this WE? All government paid pensions and benefits are amongst the lowest in Europe and the G7. Extra help with fuel bills for a couple of years when the price of oil quadrupled, yes we had that but not at the same rate as the fuel price increase. Those on pensions and benefits are at the bottom of the income range. We do have better than one roomed plastic and tin shacks found at the bottom of the global income range. It doesn't make us rich, or lazy, or entitled. It just means there are still those who are even worse off. Our basic levels of social housing, food availability, education and healthcare takes nothing away from countries without that basic infrastructure, a level of extreme poverty that is becoming increasingly rare. As it should. Alone we are limited, together we can all flourish.
