Common minimalism Mistakes To Avoid by Saloni Shrivastava 1) Taking an all or nothing approach 0:31 Learnings: Minimalism isn't about getting rid of everything , it's about easing into the process of letting go one step at a time to be allowed to more no's or colours. It doesn't have to be one way or other. it's your way that feels right to you. 2) Not involving your family 1:37 Learning: learn and enjoy this phase of life as a team. 3) Thinking it only about physical items 2:31 Learning: minimalism is a way of life where we get rid of anything that isn't necessary. It also apply digitally 4) Comparing your journey with others 3:34 Learning: Follow and learn from people but don't compare with them 5) Believing it's about saving money 4:42 Learning: it's about quality and more responsible labels to reduce repurchase Your one subscribe count will motivate me a lot : Positive Vibes Please watch full video to dive deeply

The one thing and the biggest thing that minimalism has taught me is to use the things that I already have in my house, and not indulge in mindless and impulsive shopping, in fact whenever I am thinking about going to purchase anything, i first see what things are lying around in my house and shop in my own house, it has taught me to become more mindful with whatever purchase i make.

Yeah somehow it has changed the personality and perspective also. I am now more inclined to fix things that have issues before I completely discard them n throw them away.

I've been a huge fan of hoarding cute stationery items. It came as a therapy personally. But I realised I was simply hoarding them and was never using them at all. Only when days I would clean my spaces I would find them and feel guilty about buying them all. I would then out in efforts to keep them accessible around my workstation and make it a point to use them all. Which required a lot of effort and I never really bought them to put in efforts to use them. They were therapeutic and now they seemed a burden. Practicing minimalism may help me a lot. Just like you used to say Saloni didi that you're a firm believer of minimalism and not a minimalist yet. I too allow myself that space to make mistakes and not feel guilty about it. You really exposed me to a new concept and this is so much more useful to an adult life and it has added value to my life. Thank you so much ❤️

Hello... I am 31 year old, married and have a little toddler. I am one of those many who never had any aim in life and just went ahead without any plan. In past few years I have suffered depression and loneliness. Even if surrounded by family and friends these issues can make one feel very lonesome. But after my daughter was born I stopped thing how I messed up my life and began working step by step to better it from now on so that one day my daughter may not have to go through all these and have something good to look up to. In this period I chanced upon the word minimalism and I have scoured the internet to understand it better. The mistakes you have mention resonates with me too. It appears no one really knows what truly is minimalism and there is no "work-for-all" minimalism routine. . I thank you for this video. P.S: Please, add the names of the books in the description box.

I love your videos ❤️❤️ can relate so much. This is so true. I started my minimalism journey in 2020 somewhere around end of January. I was recovering from health issues. At that time after a very long time I got some free time so I stopped to look around myself and realised i have books i never read, clothes I never wore, things i never used….even packaged and non packaged food items i never ate and probably never will. It was then that I decided i will buy only the stuff I will use. I must say I think my journey of minimalism has been a success so far…but i must say, biggest challenge was to not buy new clothes every now and then just because it’s a sale going on. Mostly because we live in a world where we put pictures on social media of every now and then. And it’s difficult to upload pictures of two different times wearing same clothes. Accept it or not folks, that shit is real. Not anymore, i am more than comfortable wearing same clothes in many of my pictures on social media. I realised it is kind of a boundation and actually takes too much of my time to decide what to wear. So I did it to save my time and save myself from extremely useless anxiety. Rest every change was easy for me. Mostly. I am a huge fan of books and stationary as well. But now I buy stuff only as per utility and productivity. Hence the quality automatically improves. Because you buy only one stuff, it better be good, right! 😇

Thank for making this video! I resonate with the mistake #5, my mom doesn't like clutter and growing up though she would never waste on unnecessary things she would always buy any electronic appliances which is of best quality. I now understand what my mom's mindset was back then!

The last one is a mistake that I have made many times. The key is to find a balance between buying a high-end product with features that you will genuinely never use and the cheapest option that will break down soon.

Hi, what do you think about investment in mobile phone as per your minimalism take? Why I am asking is, we tend to use our phones a lot but at the same time want to change them almost every 2 years. With technology changing so quickly is it good to buy iPhone or a premium Android or stick to low/average costing phones given everyone is using the phones for more than personal usage.
