The shoebill is a large, elusive, stalk-like bird with an almost prehistoric appearance, due to its oversized shoe-shaped beak. They are sometimes referred to as ‘whalehead‘.
Shoebills are found in East Africa’s freshwater swamps and marshes, including Uganda, Sudan, the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Botswana, and Tanzania.

When I was a kid I believed birds were related to the Dinosaurs. I was right. No disrespect, but it looks like a cartoon character.

Go for it! but you need to be careful! The tips of their beaks are very sharp and used to cut prey in half or decapitate them.

These birds don’t even look real. U know how at chuckee cheese they had those fake mannequins or whatever they were when I first saw a video of this bird I thought it was fake.. I hope Y’all get what I mean hard to explain

Totally agree. The way these guys move really makes them feel like animatronics, not to mention their size and simply the way they look! I could 100% picture one playing an upright bass or some sh*t in that old-school Chuck E. Cheese band.
