Shoei CWR-F2 Photochromatic Face Shield
Transitions Photochromic technology allows visors to automatically and seamlessly change from clear to dark in sunlight. The process works when photochromic dyes embedded into the lens or shield react to UV light, changing levels of darkness with the sun.
When UV light is removed, a chemical reaction driven by ambient heat reconverts the activated photochromic molecules to their original, clear form and the lens fades.

I was seriously considering this visor for my NXR2. But when I found out that it will lose its capability to adjust to light over time it became a hard no for me. Especially for the price. Can't deny it is very cool to see the shield darken/lighten. Like a chameleon.

From what I’ve been able to find they last 2-2.5 years. After that they seem to lose their reactivity and are stuck at a certain darkness.

@@ethanbury6432I think that 2-2.5yrs is if you ride with it daily. If not then it will almost double the lifespan if you store it in a dark and cool place when use ocassionally. But then our helmets also needs replacement after 5yrs.

Does the Photochromic visor wears out in time, or after cleaning it many times?

I just bought one today i live in Arizona the suns pretty strong here. Unfortunately for me it was not worth it. The tint did not get dark enough for me not to need sunglasses on my commute. Thankfully i was able to return it

Thats the drawback, its still not as dark as real dark visor.

@StriveCFTv1108301009 yes am using RF1400 (US model) which is the same as the Asian model na NXR2. This is my favorite helmet, very comfy.

tetest ko pa sakin sa x14 ko katamad kasi magpalit palit ng visor..$252 bili ko dito sa singapore. yung dark smoke ko reserve ko nalang pag no choice

But unless it does it lightening fast? I could still DIE coming around tight turn into blinding sunlight Couple days ago I literally had to STOP my motorcycle becuse I was literally blind! Danger there of course is if driver behind is also blind they could plow right into you!

I hope such thing exist, but this is the next best thing to carrying 2 shield if riding from dusk till dawn.
