It's funny that they tell Uesigi Kenshin that Bishamonten, the war god, has awoken, because in the real Sengoku Judai he was such an excellent general that he had people believed that HE was the avatar of Bishamonten.

Uesugi defeated the Mighty Takeda Cavalry in Kawanakajima with their Faithful Buddhist Naginata. I think The Oda Clan was the first one in Honshu who used Arquebuses and Muskets for ashigarus, next to Otomo clan in Kyushu. Just like Nobunaga exhibited in Nagashino to repel Katsuyori Takeda's Cavalry charge.

@slamdunc099 Kung Fu actually originated from India. An Indian Monk travelled to China and met the Shaolin monks. He awed them with his style of mediation, and he taught them this specific mediation that he had mastered. This style of medication would come to evolve into Kung-Fu

@puchy110 Yes contrary to popular belief firearms up to the point of flintlocks were inferior to bows and a contigent of trained swordman could close with and destroy musketmen and they also made armor that could resist a musketball from penetrating it was simply that training swordsmen was much more expensive than training musketmen;

It's a stereotype spreaded by hippies. Buddhism probably is the most bellicose religion. Buddhist monks actually trained to fight and carry a weapon, unlike their 'colleagues' from Christianity or Islam

Did you ever hear about Shintoism?
@537monster5 жыл бұрын
lazy eye there are different kinds of Buddhism just like there are different kinds of Christianity. Just like Christianity, some forms of Buddhism are more pacifist or warlike than others. Shinto-Buddhism is a Japanese form of Buddhism that mixes Japanese folklore and mythology with Buddhist philosophy, and is significantly more accepting of war than the more pacifist beliefs promoted by people like the Dali Lama for example. You could probably compare it to the difference in beliefs in a Catholic and an Amish person. The Catholic Church has openly endorsed war in the past as a way of protecting Christianity and spreading the word of God. Amish people however interpret the Bible in a way that outlaws violence against a fellow child of God, even if that person is a heretic or pagan.

Indeed, though no one comes out clean after a war. Canada and the U.S. also had their own forms of concentration camps. There are many sides to a country, I doubt Donald Trump represents the whole of the United States very well, and Anime is a only a portion of Japanese culture. At the end of the day, where you're from only says where you're from. It may give hints to a culture you may have grown up with, it's part of who you are, but given the diversity there is when speaking about an entire country, it becomes more difficult to pinpoint. You can say that Japanese culture is centred around discipline and respect since it's a small country. It's hard to use that with American's because it's far too diverse to have any empirical validity. The Japanese fought like hell for their beliefs, and yes, they were willing to use dirty tactics, with evidence for a biological weapon as bad as nukes being in development to use against the Allies. However the principles of discipline, determination, passion, and loyalty can be seen in various aspects of different cultures from Japanese anime to Canadian Hockey teams. It's these ideals found in culture that weeaboos associate with Japan, being blinded to all the B.S. the politicians tried to pull. Food's good though that's for sure.
