They could've either gone for Gerrit Cole, or at least Hyun Jin Ryu(4 year 80 mil) and Madison Bumgarner(5 year 85 mil). Lot cheaper contracts and still more productive than Rendon. Ryu is injury prone and Bumgarner is washed up. But I will take those two over Rendon anyday. And I can't believe I'm saying this as a Dodger fan, to say Bumgarner over Rendon. And then even this season, instead of Syndergaard, they could've signed Robbie Ray, Sean Manaea, etc and would've been better and cheaper than syndergaard for 21 mil. Or go after Kevin Gausman. But no, they don't wanna have contracts more than 2 years with any pitcher while they give out long contracts to sluggers to Josh Hamilton, Anthony Rendon, Mike Trout, Albert Pujols. Only sluggers get long contracts over 2 years. They signed Syndergaard for 1 year 21 mil when the guy hasn't played for 2 seasons. Lmfao.

So Trout, I don't feel bad for because he chose money over titles. It's what Trout wanted. He felt that Angels is the place to be for him. Ohtani however, has a chance to go to a different team.

@@EdDy4RheelZ I don't know about that. Ohtani wants to play as two-way player and is even willing to be paid the minimum to get that through. Most teams would probably force him to dedicate on either of those or at most seldom let him do both. Angels' contract was that he is promised to be given a chance to pitch and bat, and Ohtani will probably stay as long as Angels' is the only team willing to sufficiently let Ohtani pitch and bat.

I’ve held on for so long believing that Angels will snatch better pitchers and relievers, and grow their players, but man what a let down it has been. So you can't blame it on pitchers when owner doesn't wanna spend money on pitching. Prick thinks signing Noah Syndergaard and re-signing a closer Raisel Iglesias will resolve his pitching staff. Closer is useless if the team is losing more than winning. Noah Syndergaard is a washed up pitcher who only pitched 2 innings total in past 2 seasons and he's struggling from injury.
