I’m from the Uk and have never watched baseball or bothered to understand it until 4 months ago due to this guys performance in the WBC. I now follow it regularly just to watch Otani because even I realise how insane this guy is.

you missed out on two great seasons ('21 and '22). But just for your entertainment, last year around this time, within 24 hours (2 games), first game, he hit 2 homeruns and drove in 8 runs (8 RBI), and next day he struck out 13 players, all within 24 hours. That was the moment I stopped caring about any MVP debates and moved on to the GOAT of all sports debate.

Fletcher was clutch, without his catch the game would have been tied, Ohtani would have lost his W and responsible for an extra earned run, wasting his performance. Estevez is just scary bad, he's lucky the game ended 4-2. Hopefully he got it out of the system.

I cannot stress enough what this man does for baseball. I’m 32, moved away from baseball for a few years because I just fell out of love basically. Watching this man makes me feel like I’m watching Griffey as a 10 year old again. What an amazing player. Guy is helping save/grow baseball immensely.

What a Shohei's brilliant and symbolic game! The second home run was Shohei's original skillfull one that caught a low ball on the outside with the core of the bat. Shohei's calm and skillfull pitching was also excellent.

Jeter and Rose weren't on the level of the other guys named here but I get your point. Come to think of it, neither was Gwynn. Jeter and Gwynn didn't even hit 70 WAR and played forever. Rose had 80 by playing 5 years too long. Meanwhile, Ruth Cobb, Aaron Williams, and Mantle were all over 100 with Clemente at 95. Robinson would've been that high if he played his whole career in mlb.
